A lot of people coming into my clinic are holding regret -things they wish had gone differently, or moments they just can't make peace with.

It's really been sitting with me, because in Chinese Medicine, regret isn't something to get rid of - its something to listen to.

The emotion of regret causes emotional and physical pain and stagnation. We become stuck or sick.

It shows us where the heart has unfinished business.
And when we meet it with compassion, instead of trying to forget it, stuck energy starts to move, and that's where healing happens.

In Taoism, there's the idea that we should live - and die - with no regrets. Not because everything went perfectly, but because we felt it all and lived it all.

Maybe that's the invitation now - to soften around what has been, to let the past become something that steadies you instead of weighing you down or holding you back.
If that resonates, it might be time to tend to your heart a little more gently.

I have been in Melbourne this week studying the Luo channels with Ann Cecil-Sterman, alongside many other dedicated practitioners. We had the privilege of watching Ann treat numerous patients, and it was incredible to witness her skill, presence, and compassion in action
Every person left feeling lighter, and freer.

In Daoism, it is said every imbalance begins with an emotion.
The luos offer a profound map of how emotions are stored in the body. With acupuncture, we can help to release these deep - held layers, making space for freedom, balance and possibility in this life.

Come and join myself and Donna O'Connor for some yummy yin & pin.

I met Donna when she co-hosted a retreat I was on, on Waiheke Island. She has a beautiful presence and way of holding the space.
She is from Taranaki and is popping back to check in and host some lovely offerings.

We are excited to do this, it's going to be so much fun.
And if you opt out of needles, it's ok! I promise you will receive everything you need.

Do you meditate?
I couldn't live without it anymore. I'm not sure how long I have been consistent for, but it is a few years now.
Most mornings the cat and dog join me🐕🐱, I think they like it too😴

Lots of people say 'I've tried, but I can't'. I say, that is simply not true. Having an empty mind hardly ever happens in my meditation either .
Or... 'I don't have time' - but even 5 minutes is great! Consistency is key.

Tips for starting

Get as comfy as you can, have a timer on and cat on lap. And just breathe. With no pauses at the top or the bottom. Let your body relax a tiny bit more with each exhalation.
You don't have to clear your mind, let the thoughts come in, and go out - like waves.
Start with just a few minutes and work your way up to as long as you like. (I find my mind starts to really chill out after 20 minutes)

📷Grant took this of me this morning. I thought it was so he could show me how silly I look😂

What I mean, is she nailed it.
This is what I want all my clients to experience with me.
Acupuncture is way more than helping you feel better today, or helping to alleviate symptoms.

Its about helping you align, in every way.

Woman’s Health Acupuncture

Hi. My name is Nicola Douglas. I am an acupuncturist specialising in Woman’s Health. I am most passionate about treating pregnancy and fertility related conditions. I use a combination of acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, cupping and moxabustion along with dietary and lifestyle advice.

My clients are not restricted to pregnancy and fertility, I enjoy seeing and treating any woman with a desire to improve her health and life overall. Acupuncture and herbs may restore balance to the mind, body and soul. Outcomes can include stabilizing hormones, improving mood, sleep and energy and of course, pain reduction.

My overall treatment style is unique and holistic. My clients enjoy the approach I take to improving their health and well-being. I encourage people to engage in a course of regular treatments, designed specifically for them. Our progress in monitored closely, so we can ensure our goals of health and well-being are being met as quickly as possible.

So, if you are ready to take the next step towards a better you, please go to my website to learn more, nicdouglasacupuncture.com
