Sports Prize Giving on Thursday night was another neat night. Great to have Karen Hanlan there as guest speaker - what an inspirational woman! Congrats to all award winners. Special mention to Marley Sullivan - Sports woman of the year and to Mike Webber - Sports man of the Year. Also to Tahi Goddard - coach of the year and to Theresa and Gaylene - supporters of the year.

Another eventful day at Opo College. Was fantastic having Mania Campbell-Seymour in for the day meeting with our students and inspiring them. Mania is a 4th year Medical Student who is currently in Opotiki on Practicum - we are sooooo proud of her achievements.

School Cross Country also ran smoothly - Pretty impressive efforts by Cody Glaser (first senior boy) and Jared Owen (close second) - of course having Ms V close on their tails kept them moving. More results to follow.

A great start to the term. Last term we farewelled Mr Abes and on monday we welcomed Mr Maehe. A busy term ahead with only 3 weeks until Prize Giving, Seniors last day and the beginning of NCEA exams!!!

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our Young Enterprise team who have just won the Regional Awards in Whakatane and are on their way to the Nationals in Wellington. Also, Ms. Marion Holloway was awarded the 'James Fletcher' Award for services outstanding over her years as Mentor/Teacher. Marion is to be an honorary guest at the National Awards where she will receive her most deserved accolade by Mr James Fletcher himself. Well deserved, Marion - your support of YES has been tireless - no chance to hide away from the limelight this time!
