Campfire Sauna Campfire Sauna is open! Come and join us for a hot sit. We have cold showers, changing rooms and a gorgeous chill zone for a sumptuous in-between.

Kia ora, we’re Sally and Malky, two new Paekākāriki residents who want to contribute to the community and bring people together through a ritual we get great pleasure and health benefits from. We came to the sauna idea separately. Sally loved the idea of creating a community asset, while Malcolm had been nurturing a dream of building a floating sauna. As friends, they decided to join dreams to mak

e Campfire Sauna happen. Sally’s background is in social policy research and teaching yoga and dance (Shut Up and Dance). Malcolm’s background is in operational and strategic planning in humanitarian affairs and emergency management. Together they form a delightful team, committed to environmental responsibility, design quality, community development and lighthearted fun.
