Kia ora e te whānau,

Today we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day with our members, we love to see when the community shows their support for our Pūira Kehe (Down Syndrome) whānau by wearing !

Manawatū Standard wrote a piece about how we support World Down Syndrome Day and our very own Pūira Kehe had their time to shine photographed for the news article. Marianne Poole is a long standing advocate for our special needs community and her love and support reflects in our inclusive gym environment so do check out the article https://www.pressreader.com/new-zealand/manawatu-standard/20250320/281509346971167?srsltid=AfmBOoqKjyr4LPXj2fMC2qMMWmX2R0KxOkex7DTM45uJPo6inEEa8EoT

Kia ora e te whānau,

We're celebrating Blue September aka Prostate Cancer NZ and initiative to bring awareness about Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand 💙

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month where more than 4,000 Kiwi men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year. Every day 10 mates, fathers, sons, brothers, grandfathers will be told they have prostate cancer – if you haven’t been directly affected, you’re bound to know someone who has 👨👨🏼👨🏽👨🏾👨🏿

This year's theme is 'Do Something Blue To Help a Mate' so we've jumped on board to set up the WHOOSPIE Jar on the front counter a.k.a. the swear jar 🙊🤬

Kia ora e te whānau,

It is Cervicale Screening Awareness Month and this is your reminder to SMEAR YOUR MEA 🌺

Together, screening and HPV immunization offer the most effective protection against cervical cancer. Cervical cancer can be cured if identified and treated early. All women between 25 and 69 should have regular three yearly smear (cervical screening) tests.

Check out some of following spaces to get your screen in Palmerston North:
Best Care Whakapai Hauora
Te Hā o Hine-ahu-one Palmerston North Women’s Health Collective
Health NZ - Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral
THINK Hauora

Check out the Official Cervical Screening Website
https://info.health.nz/keeping-healthy/cancer-screening/cervical-screening

A reminder that cervical cancer is one of the easiest cancers to prevent – as long as we detect the cell changes that cause it, early.

Take a friend, go with a group or book in today 📅📞
