We value the incredible contributions of our 8,000 volunteers who make Hato Hone St John the very special place that it is. International Volunteer Day is an important time to pause and celebrate the huge number of selfless individuals we have across our organisation.

Hato Hone St John Mid-Central participated in an awesome joint training with the Lido Pool lifeguards.

It was incredible to see how the lifeguards extracted a person from the pool with a simulated spinal injury and a panicking drowning person who subsequently went into respiratory and then cardiac arrest.

Our team watched the lifeguards in action, took a handover, and then showed the lifeguards how they would treat these patients - both people were saved!
