Fonterra celebrated its tanker operators at the Transport Operator of the Year Awards in Auckland.

The awards shine a spotlight on 1600 tanker operators who get behind the wheel every day to collect milk safely and efficiently from thousands of Fonterra farms across the country.

One of this year’s Tanker Operator of the Year recipients is Darfield‑based tanker operator Scott Butler, who says it’s rewarding to be recognised. “I enjoy driving – the scenery and the peace and quiet are a bonus.”

Congratulations to this year's winners!

Congratulations to Grace Coogan – recipient of the Fonterra Agri-Teacher Scholarship 2026 🎉

Growing up on a family farm, Grace has always been deeply connected to agriculture. Through hands-on experience in farm management and environmental initiatives, her passion for the sector has continued to grow. Now, she’s taking that knowledge into the classroom — inspiring rangatahi and helping shape the future of New Zealand’s primary industries.

At Te Mātāpuna Fonterra, we know the future of dairy starts with education. That’s why we’re proud to support the Fonterra Agri-Teacher Scholarship, developing future agribusiness teachers who will help grow skills, leadership, and capability across Aotearoa.

Through our partnership with agribusinessinschools, this scholarship supports people like Grace to Imagine Tomorrow, building strong career pathways into dairy and ensuring the next generation can explore their potential in our sector.

👏A huge congratulations to Grace as she begins this exciting journey and helps inspire the future of careers in dairy.
