Conversation with a new client today at Brewtown Market (and this type of convo is unfortunately very common.. )
He has been on a high dose of epilim for over 20 years for his epilepsy/seizures.
He now has nerve pain (chronic neuropathy) which is an unfortunate side effect of the long term epilepsy medication.
He is having constant tremors & his entire body feels like it is inflammed with chronic pain. 🫨
The answer from the dr now is to add 2 more pain medications to his schedule alongside the epilepsy medication - along with a higher dose of epilepsy medication because its not working as well as it used to.
He is in constant chronic pain, and his quality of life is dramatically reduced.
I asked if his dr had talked to him about cannabinoids/cannabis to help with both his seizures & the pain? No. And he did not know about the Endocannabinoid system, or the power of the plant to help his symptoms.
The amount of secondary medications that I hear about being prescribed to help with symptoms that have been induced by the first medication is absolutely insane.
I hear this every single day.
I've heard of clients being on 3-8 different medications in this situation, with no real answer, no solution, and NO HOPE outside of more medication.....
Absolutely shameful of the pharmaceutical industry to be hindering these patients quality of life with little to no education on natural solutions 🤔🤔🤔🤔
