Struggling to prioritise you?

It can be so hard to fit things like yoga into your day, when it all feels go-go-go. But by looking after your head and bod, you’ll have more to give ✨

Give some of these five things a try to help make your day run more smoothly.

And know that it’s ok if some days aren’t your day ♥️ Let me know which one you’ll give a go in the comments 👇🏼

Do you struggle with comparisonitis too? 👀

I would have struggled to admit this a year ago. That I am still learning, growing, and discovering too.

Some days as a teacher I still feel like “who would listen to me, what value can I add?”

I had the most beautiful conversation the other day with the amazing and we talked about how it can sometimes feel like you’ll never be enough. Comparing yourself to others around you. Feeling inadequate in your field. That no amount of certificate hoarding will ever be enough 📃

I catch myself comparing myself to others, as a yogi, a dancer, even a friend, a colleague, a partner.

And I get it. It shows up in many ways, on many days.

Self-doubt. Recovering perfectionist. Imposter syndrome.

Whatever you would like to label it.

I see you.

I know you seek more for yourself. I see you as you search for the most true version of you.

You are enough. In whatever version of yourself you find yourself in today.

You are an amazing human. You don’t need to DO anything, you can just be.

A whole, complete, human BEing.

Tag someone who might need to hear this today. Let them know they are enough, perfectly perfect as they are ✨

I’d love to have you join us for this amazing cause!

You busy critter. Do you often find yourself rushing from one thing to the next? 🏃🏼‍♀️

Stop.

Allow yourself time to breathe 🫁

As women I find we often think we have to be doing a million things at once, we can’t rest until all the tasks are finished ⏳

It’s ok to take pause. To slow down.

Winter months are such a good reminder that we can’t always be in bloom.

What’s one thing you could do for yourself today to find a pause? 👇🏼

Have you moved all ya main bits today? If not, join me for ten mins, or save for later! 🤸🏼‍♂️

If you’ve got a few moments, it can feel so good to get the main players moving - hips, shoulders and spine.

This can all be done close to the ground, and there’s plenty of options to suit your fabulous bod.

Let me know how you go, and if you’ve got any requests for your next short flow 🥳

What is chair yoga and who is it great for? 🪑

Chair yoga, or seated yoga, includes the whole yoga practice in a seated position. It is perfect for anyone, especially those recovering from a lower body injury, in a wheelchair, or someone who may find balance tricky.

Breathwork, sun salutations, warrior sequences, and seated savasana can all be done seated, and allow a beautiful expansion of the upper body. It allows us to feel more calm and centred than before our chair yoga practice 🙌🏼

If this sounds like a bit of you, feel free to slide into my DMs to find out more.

Otherwise we move together every week at 10.30am Tuesdays or online via the latest link in my bio 👆🏼 can’t wait to move with you in some way!

Four week prenatal yoga course • Mahana Yoga Loft

Are you pregnant and not sure where to start with your movement journey? Are you a seasoned yogini wanting to know how to adapt your practice for your pregnancy? This four week prenatal yoga course will teach you how to move safely and effectively for you and baby, as well as ways to connect to the breath and body.

We will use plenty of props to support our practice, and learn how to use the breath to support our pregnancy and labour. We will learn about the pelvic floor, and how to adapt our yoga practice for you and baby. We will build strength and softness, which will help carry us through pregnancy and into life beyond.

About your teacher Kate:

I have been drawn to yoga for years, and I completed my teacher training in 2020. I am passionate about women’s health and fertility. I also work in healthcare, and this has forever been an interest of mine. I am so excited to walk alongside mums to be through their pregnancy journey, offering support and a laugh or two as they deepen their connection to themselves and baby.

Course starts 22nd of November and runs for four weeks, from 4 - 5.15pm at Mahana Yoga Loft.

Investment is $80 for the four classes, to be paid before we commence.

Please get in touch with any further questions, and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Making CARS a daily part of life 🤸🏼‍♀️

This month I’ve been learning all about CARS, or Controlled Articular Rotations, thanks to and who are part of the team.

CARS are such an amazing way to move through the range of your joints. They are used as joint maintenance - much like brushing your teeth daily is good for your mouth, CARS are fab for your bod.

It’s so cool videoing yourself for feedback on compensations, and trying new ways to move using props or a wall help to create new neural pathways.

I’ll be finding ways to sneak CARS into asana, if you have any questions or would like to know more, let me know! I love sharing new ideas.

Also, get yourself a yoga cat. Less will be achieved but happiness will follow 🐈
