Mōrena rā whānau mā....this morning comes with the unfortunate and sudden news of discontinuation of funding for Te Iwaiwa Pua Wānanga. This will sadly result in the discontinuation of wānanga for the time being.
Please redirect any enquires regarding hapūtanga wānanga to Te Arawa Whānau Ora.

With sincerest thanks for the engagement, support and referrals of whānau to the kaupapa over the years. Watching the village grow has been the biggest honour🍃🤍

Hapū wānanga 24 and 25th May

A wānanga to explore kōrero tuku iho, pūrakau, karakia, oriori, and nga toi Māori related to labour and birth.

Across the two days we will visit the realms and stages of labour and birth, pain management and resources to assist each stage.

Pounamu maripi wānanga....What an amazing wānanga held with Matua Te Kaha and Te Awhitawa.
A beautiful night with our hapū whānau and especially with Pāpā creating maripi to cut the aho whenua for pēpi at birth🍃🤍

The wānanga is for Pāpā and birthing partners to create Pounamu taonga for the cutting of baby's cord at birth.

Our last wānanga for 2024🍃🤍.

30th November 2024!!!
This wānanga will be based on pūrakau and kōrero tuku iho in the morning…about pregnancy, labour and birth. Our traditional pain relief, rhythms and patterns of labour and birth, rites of passages in the early weeks that follow.

The afternoon will be focused on self care - creating essential oil bath salts, pani, and massage oils.
