The Climacteric aka peri-menopause and menopause is A Heroine's Journey.
There may be fire, long windy roads, flowing rivers, meadows, and vast oceans to sail. We may cross paths with a prince, a king, a joker or two.
It's a journey requiring dedication, determination, creativity, discipline, grace and humour.
It is also a time to reflect on the lives we've lived before, as younger women, women who couldn't possibly imagine who we would become.
We can begin to take stock and explore the skills, qualities, and values we have cultivated and embodied to be the women we are today.
This review can be a redefining of how we choose to move through the next stage of life. Our lived and learned life experiences evoke wisdom and treasures to store, share, and draw from as we explore the terrain ahead.
There is no 'easy' way ahead, but there is a wise way, We look at what we already have in our satchel and consider what we need to add or what needs to be removed, deciding that what has served us up till now has gratefully served its purpose.
This is preparation for the journey ahead.
