Puhi Ariki Logo

Our logo is formed from half of the diamond, an inverted triangle resting on its base, the mangopare rests within as a remainder of courage and resilience.

In its inverted form the triangle calls to Papatuanuku, the grounding source of all life. Its story is rooted in Kurawaka, the sacred place where Tāne shaped the first women, Hineahuone, from the red clay of Papatuanuku, breathing life into her so that whakapapa might continue. Thus Puhi Ariki stands as a symbol of wahine, creation and the sacred work of childbirth - The strength of women as the bearers of life and the foundation of whanau and hapū.
