Feeling so inspired for this coming year in both my businesses!

A quick intro for any new followers, I am Charlotte an Interior Stylist. I have been working in this industry since Brent Bastin asked me to work with him 9 years ago. My specialty to styling to sell with in home styling consultations and I also offer partial staging services for vendors that need a few more accessories and nice linen pieces around their homes.

My husband and I also have our own company buying, renovating and selling homes here in the Bay of Plenty. I am so lucky my businesses compliment each other and keep me very busy.

I am also the proud Mummy of Otto, Frankie and Gigi. We live in Matua with our dog and cat. In my spare time I love to run and play tennis. Thanks for coming on this journey with me, I hope I can inspire you this year 🙌

When styling coffee tables think about:

* Having some grounding items such as a pile of books, magazines or a tray to display other items on top of

* Using different heights of items to add interest and balance each other out

* Have some kind of living element such as a plant, fresh flowers or dried foliage

* Displaying one item that is an interesting or sculptural shape to give a modern look

* Finish off with smaller fillers such as candles, diffusers or small pottery bowls

*Keep the colour scheme in line with all other items in your room to complement each other

My profession is as much about people and relationships than it is about rearranging items to make your home look amazing. Every week I meet incredible people who trust in myself to go through an incredibly intimate journey of going through and adjusting every part of their home so they can receive as much money as possible on their most valuable asset. Selling their home can be an extremely emotionally challenging time for people so I need to adjust my temperament to each individual as I have difficult conversations about removing or packing family heirlooms, religious artifacts or personal items that are best not to be be on display. Most of the time (98% of the time) everyone is on board with the process and by the time I leave they are telling me how energized they are by the process and they want to give me a hug to say thanks.

I felt really valued by the vendor of property featured here which goes to auction in Wednesday. The photos by look amazing.

The vendor gave me the biggest hug when I left and she was so thankful that we collaborated together to get the most of her home by rearranging what she already had. Space optimization was a priority for me here and we managed to achieve this by making simple changes to her spaces. Everyday I am thankful for the people I am able to help in this emotional process!

It’s been such a pleasure taking a bunch of fresh hydrangeas from the garden to all my consultations every day this week. I love to give even if it’s small gesture.

We had to take out quite a few big hydrangea plants and give them away when we re-planted a privacy hedge along the outside of our tennis court but we still have a few remaining hydrangeas in the garden and they bring so much joy. I’m finding the ones situated in the shady spots under trees are doing so much better and lasting longer in this heat that the ones in full sun. Who else is a hydrangea fan? They feel so nostalgic to me 🌺

There is something uniquely beautiful about herbs that have gone to seed and the beautiful flowers they produce, I have mixed this with some wildflowers grown in vegetable garden. Such a lovely way to start the year picking flowers and fresh berries with your little one!
