Welcome, my name is Keri and I am a Registered Nurse and DAPAANZ accredited supervisor who promotes a trauma-informed supervision culture. I share resources that inspire my practice both as a mental health and addiction nurse, and as a professional supervisor. I work with clinicians, case managers, and students across the mental health and addiction sector. I am drawn to strength-based and trauma-
informed approaches that emphasise emotional safety and therapeutic presence. The aim being to create a space for reflective and transformative conversations, supporting your wellbeing and professional learning needs. I am motivated by the words of Dr Robin Youngson, “We must find the time to care for ourselves, our colleagues, and those we serve”. Professional supervision is a proactive way of caring for yourself whilst doing the therapeutic work that is important to us. In my life and work I aim to live simply, drawing on holistic wellbeing practices from my background in mental health and addiction nursing, nutritional medicine, and meditation practices. I am committed to promoting compassion, empowerment, and wellbeing in our healthcare community, drawing on three pillars of trauma-informed supervision; strong relational skills and therapeutic presence, adult learning principles that include reflective practice, and resilience building activities. Based in Tauranga, New Zealand, I welcome the opportunity to discuss how our professional supervision relationship can develop.
