🤍🪽 GAYLENE DELANEY END-OF-LIFE DOULA (Tauranga, NZ)
Jo & I are deeply honoured to be shining the spotlight on Gaylene Delaney. At first meeting, she may seem quietly spoken. Yet when she speaks, something far greater steps forward. Her voice carries depth, mana, lived wisdom and a steady, compassionate strength that cannot be measured by volume. It is the kind of presence that settles a room and gently invites truth to the surface.
Gaylene wears many hats, and she wears them with grace. As an End-of-Life Doula, she stands among a small circle of pioneering women who have been carrying the torch for this sacred work across Aotearoa. Through hosting the bi-monthly Death Cafe in Tauranga, helping to organise Dying Matters Week, facilitating Death Without Debt workshops, and generously sharing her knowledge with those ready to lean into conversations around death, she continues to nurture understanding where once there was hesitation.
Within what we lovingly call the Doulaverse, we are surrounded by those who lead with heart. Earth Angels in everyday clothing. Gaylene is most certainly one of them.
Thank you, Gaylene, for your courage, your compassion, and the light you hold for others 🤍🪽

🚨 WE DID IT. IT’S ALIVE. 🚨✨ The Go With The Jo’s website is officially LIVE! ✨
After sleepless nights, relentless eye-rubbing, dramatic hair-pulling, and the occasional heartfelt yell at the screen…

There were moments we questioned our life choices. Moments we considered befriending the “refresh” button. Moments where the laptop nearly went out the window. But here we are. Standing...sitting. Triumphant. Slightly feral and a little unhinged🤪🤪

👉 Hit the link, have a wander and enjoy! https://www.gowiththejos.nz/

We’d absolutely love your feedback. The good, the kind, the “ooh that’s nice” and even the “have you thought about…” variety.

With love, laughter and a strong cup of something restorative and somewhat slightly sleep-deprived legends, we shall go forth and let our website shine across the internet 💫 ... in anticipation, The Weary Jo’s 💻🌀💖

SERENITY ~ Natural Burial Shroud
SERENITY is a thoughtfully designed natural burial shroud, created as a final, gentle embrace.
Crafted from 100 percent linen, the fabric is lightweight with a loose weave, allowing it to drape naturally. It’s soft, pale sage green hue speaks quietly of earth, renewal, and calm. Made entirely from natural fibres, it is ideally suited for green and natural burials.
The shroud is finished with four linen bindings, each with softly frayed edges that offer a feathery, tender touch. The natural beige tones harmonise beautifully with the sage, complemented by a hessian jute overlay that adds depth and grounded texture.
Resting lightly upon the shroud is a removable Forever Bouquet. This delicate arrangement is handcrafted from cheesecloth into flowers, individually hand-dyed using natural dyes. Bunny tails accompany a hand-crafted poppy made from textured woven cotton, embellished with wooden beads and wool fibres.
These elements are gently nestled into fibres from the Nikau Palm and combined with Gum tree bark, Lichen, Grape vine tendrils and a piece of Paua shell. Together, they create an offering of natural, earthy hues and tones that evoke serenity, reverence, and connection to the land.
All materials for the Forever Bouquet are recycled, hand-gathered, and respectfully sourced from Mumma Nature. Each shroud is designed and crafted with care, presence, and intention, with the deep knowing that this will one day be someone’s final and beautiful fabric embrace.
With much love,
Jo & Jo

🪽✨ CAROL WALES ~ END-OF-LIFE DOULA & CELEBRANT (Tauranga, NZ)
Jo & I are delighted to be shining the spotlight on Carol Wales, End-of-Life Doula and Celebrant.

When we speak with, listen to, or think about Carol, it feels as though angels are singing, harps are playing, and soft feathers float gently at the edges of awareness.

For those of us who have had the privilege of being in Carol’s presence, this gentle, luminous quality is undeniable. She carries an unmistakably angelic presence, and I’m certain anyone who has encountered her, especially through deeply personal moments, will agree.

C is for Carol, and C is for compassion - truly synonymous with this remarkable woman. She is a beautiful choice when it truly matters.🤍🪽

✨🎨 JOSIE SELKIRK - Artist & Designer (Wellington, NZ)
Jo & I have the utmost pleasure in introducing Josie Selkirk, a Kiwi artist and designer who is very much a rising star.
Josie’s genre leans towards a beautiful fusion of Wāhine-inspired pieces, Toi Māori, and a colourful, playful world. Her work is ethereal and mesmerising, transporting you on an otherworldly adventure. A journey with depth, soul, and a touch of magic woven through every detail.
We were absolutely thrilled to have Josie design our logo and business cards for Go With The Jo’s, and we could not be more ecstatic with the outcome. From conception, through the design process, to the finished product, everything flowed seamlessly. She listened carefully to our directives, remained professional throughout, and brought it all together with warmth, laughter, and ease.
Josie is a consummate professional whose presence and vitality are clearly reflected in her work. She is also wonderfully humble, with a beautiful soul. Her family and ancestors proudly walk alongside her, and you can feel that lineage and mana in what she creates.
Commissions are welcome, and supporting Josie is a way of uplifting a true Kiwi jewel. We are excited to be collaborating again in the near future.
Prepare to be captivated by a visual feast of creativity and let her artwork fill your spirit with wonder.

💀☕️ If you haven't been...it's a MUST!!!
You are warmly invited to the first Tauranga Death Cafe of 2026.
Date: Saturday 31 January 2026
Time: 10:00am – 11:30am
Venue: Patio Rose Café, Piccolo Room
528 Cambridge Road, Tauriko

Death Cafes are informal, welcoming gatherings where people come together to talk openly about death, dying, and everything in between. The intention is not to be morbid or heavy, but to create space for honest conversation, curiosity, and reflection — often accompanied by good coffee and gentle humour.

Around the world, the death positivity movement is encouraging communities to bring conversations about death back into everyday life. By talking about death more openly, we can reduce fear, increase understanding, and support one another to live more consciously and fully. Death Cafes are part of this global movement, offering a safe and respectful environment for discussion, with no agenda and no expectation to share more than you feel comfortable with.

Everyone is welcome. You do not need any prior knowledge or experience — just an openness to listen, reflect, and be part of the conversation. I hope you can join us.
Warmly,
Gaylene Delaney

👣💻 After many hours of cacao sipping, pens running dry, hill walks (rain included), website templates, and strategic movement to avoid rigor mortis, Jo and I are delighted to announce… the birthing of our precious little Kiwi baby is nearly here and about to take flight. Ironically, for something devoted to death, end-of-life, and the great beyond, it’s feeling very much alive. We can almost hear the pitter-patter of tiny web feet. Yes, a few Braxton Hicks moments have been felt too. Watch this space.

I would like to share a video that holds deep meaning for both myself and my dear friend Bern. This experience had a profound impact on me and became a pivotal moment, inspiring me to follow my magnetic pull toward end-of-life doula care.

Once again, heartfelt thanks to Bern, Terri (Joe’s wife), and the family for allowing me to share Joe’s story. It is a true honour.

You can find the video on The Holistic Shebang page. And just to ease any confusion, yes… I am Jo Carter. I do tend to wear several hats 😉🎩

✨🦋✨ SOUL-FULL SYNCHRONICITIES ... quiet whispers from beyond.
An End-of-Life Reiki, through the eyes and voice of a Daughter & Practitioner.
I had the honour of gifting a Remote End-of-Life Reiki session, during a truly sacred time. It was deeply humbling and heartfelt. This will stay with me always.❣️
