🌱 Our 2025 Sustainability Report is here! This year we’ve taken big steps toward living our “why” of creating a more harmonious world for our grandchildren’s grandchildren.

From supporting whānau into healthier homes to helping businesses lift their sustainability game, our impact continues to grow. Huge thanks to our kaimahi Amy for leading this mahi with heart.

Take a look at what we’ve been up to and where we’re heading next. 💚👇

Earth Month may have ended… but our efforts have not! 🏃

Nik inspires our team to reduce our emissions, by running to work. Running is a great way to keep healthy, and help the planet.🌏

📢Announcement time!

We’re super excited to announce our new 20 Degrees Instagram page. 🧡

This account is another space where we'll be connecting with more whānau, by sharing helpful healthy home tips, upcoming community workshops, whānau success stories, snapshots of our mahi, and more.

We’d love for you to follow our page, and share it with your networks. Every follow helps us reach more whānau in the Bay of Plenty who need support to get their homes warmer, drier and healthier! 🏠

Temperatures are starting to drop across the Bay of Plenty… 🥶

For many whānau that means cold, damp homes and more sickness over winter. We see it every year - and we also see how something as simple as a heater, warm bedding, or lined curtains can completely change how a home feels, and how a whānau gets through winter. 🏠 ❄️

We can’t do this mahi alone. If you have items to give, we would be so grateful if you can help by dropping off any of the following items at 📍 59 Seventh Avenue, Tauranga:
-Plug-in heaters (no unflued gas please)
-Clean woollen blankets
-Clean duvets.

We also lean on the support of local initiatives. Donating clean curtains to curtain banks or children’s clothing to The Clothing Project makes a huge difference to the families we support!

If donating goods isn’t possible, you can also support through a koha here 👉https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/20-degrees-1 -

Every bit helps us reach more families as the demand continues to grow through winter! Ngā mihi 💚 🧡

“Giving our best is not enough. We must strive to do more.”

In our latest blog post, Nik reflects on an energy hardship conference he presented at - and the reality facing whānau right now.

With rising fuel costs, 30,000+ pre‑pay power users regularly losing access to electricity, and all five national Energy Wellbeing measures going backwards, the situation is worsening.

Household tips can only go so far. System change is needed.

Read Nik’s full reflection 👇

I headed up to Auckland last week to attend a conference focused on supporting those who were really struggling to access the energy they needed to live in a warm, dry, healthy home. As you could imag

It's the last day of Earth Month! 🌏

Our team member Anna has been commuting via the bus almost every day of the work week. 🚌

If we all take little steps in reducing our carbon emissions through alternative modes of transport, this adds up and makes a big difference! Lets help care for our environment - thinking of the generations ahead of us to come.

What did you do for Earth month? Let us know in the comments below 😊

At our latest Green Drinks, Ian Herbert shared the mahi he has been doing for Aotearoa's first biodiversity finance assessment.🌏

This includes collecting biodiversity financing data from over 700 entities in this country and counting! His passion and expertise is second to none in the space. This is a conversation of our time, vital for intergenerational fairness.

The crowd enjoyed Ian's session, as well as the incredible hospitality from our Green Drinks sponsors (Vitality Kitchen - Tauranga, Basestation, Zeden Cider Co.), supported by some old fashioned guavas from Rebecca's garden! ✨

Keep an eye out on our page for future Green Drinks events 🙏

A warm welcome to our newest team members – Gareth and Pixie! 🎊

Gareth is our new home assessor. Not only does he bring his adorable labrador Pixie 🐶 to the office, but more importantly, he has a genuine passion for helping people. 💚

He brings hands on experience as a qualified builder and has a people first approach.

For Gareth, a healthy home is about more than bricks and mortar. He believes that when a whānau has a healthy whare they can thrive and reach their potential. Gareth is also passionate about helping people reduce their energy consumption so that they can have lower power bills and use less resources. 🏡

Welcome on board the waka, Gareth!

What does sustainable living really mean?

For us, it’s not just about today. It’s about the generations that come after us.

As Nik, our co-founder, puts it:
“If it involves sustainable living, in our minds that is multi-generational. It’s thinking ahead to our grandchildren’s grandchildren, and what sort of environment, what sort of world, what sort of neighbourhood we leave behind.” 👨‍👩‍👧

If you haven’t yet, take a moment to listen to Season 1 Episode 1 of our Sustainability Options podcast. 🎧 Nik and Jo share the ‘why’ behind our mahi.
