With just over a week left until Christmas, there is no time like the present to ensure you and your whānau are best protected from illness this summer season.

Whooping cough or pertussis is currently circulating throughout Aotearoa and is a highly contagious disease that can cause serious harm to newborn babies. Protecting your pēpi from whooping cough starts during pregnancy. You can protect your baby by getting vaccinated which is most effective when given from 16 weeks in each pregnancy.

The whooping cough vaccine is available and FREE from 13 weeks of every pregnancy.

For more information about getting immunised during pregnancy
