New economic report shows some positive news for the Timaru District's economy in the September quarter. Read the full story in the Timaru Herald.

Timaru’s economy recorded a 1.2% GDP rise in the September 2025 quarter but a 0.3% drop for the full year, together with an increase in unemployment.

We're proud to be working with PrimePort to bring more cruise ships to Timaru as we build our cruise business and boost our local economy. Looking forward to Noordam arriving to kick off the season on 28 November.

Timaru is the only port in New Zealand with an increase in cruise ship visits this season, expected to be its busiest yet.

Congratulations to our board chair Logan Hanifin on Timaru business NZ Petfoods launch into China!

How good to see Logan Hanifin from local South Canterbury Business NZ Petfoods on the trade mission to China with Trade Minister Todd McClay MP .

Logan and the team have recently formally launched their Pure Maranui brand in the China market and signed an MOU to launch a second brand in Q2 2026. These announcements in Shanghai this week, supported by the Government, are a reflection of the significant impact South Canterbury businesses have on the international stage.

Many of you will know this buildings as Newman’s Music Works, now this heritage Union Bank Building is co shared with TDHL.

We are excited to be bringing new life to the southern end of Stafford Street. We are still getting organised but here’s a glimpse of how the space looks.

We will be set up on Monday so you are welcome to come in and say hello.
