“Oh my gosh Yvonne! These are so beautiful! We actually got quite teary looking at them 😂 you’ve done such a wonderful job capturing how it felt to us on the day 💗 so so grateful! It’s so wild to us that these are the sneak peeks!”

Reading that the photos captured how it 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 for them on the day is the sweetest reminder of why I love what I do — because long after the flowers fade and the dress is tucked away, the feeling of your wedding day lingers. Getting to bottle even a little bit of that is the greatest honour. 💗

Last Saturday was one of those real pinch-me moments — a true privilege to be invited to the Waikato to document Megan and Brett’s unforgettable day. From the venue and the styling to the food, the VEIL, and the most cruisey couple on earth, it was perfection from beginning to end. Honestly… how do I come down from here?!

Wedding season is back in full swing and I’m so thrilled about it. Hannah and Jordan got married over the weekend at Dockside with their two beautiful kids, surrounded by family and close friends. It was a relaxed, joy-filled day celebrating love and all the good stuff that comes with it. One of my favourite things about spring weddings is seeing all the colours come to life.

Flora and Maarten flew all the way from Amsterdam for part 2 of their 3 part wedding celebrations. This part consisted of paying respects to family with a Chinese Tea Ceremony at Boomrock. A few days before arriving, Wellington was issued a red warning of gale force winds up to 130km. We quickly made back up plans with the help of the wonderful people at Naumi and the amazingly talented to push the day forward and get some portraits before facing the storm. It was the windiest day in a very long time (schools closed early and trains were stopped!) but that didn’t wipe the smile off their faces. They even braved the winds up at Boomrock 🙌🏻. Legends.

A lot of people don’t realize I do other types of shoots outside of weddings. I’m not surprised, my page only features bride and grooms because I’m too OCD to mess up the grid. This family shoot was so golden and delicious that it would be rude not to. So now that I’ve pulled the bandaid off, you’ll hopefully be seeing more family sessions here. Julia, Nick and Max, you guys were so much fun and such a dream to photograph 💕🥰

Friday marked my last wedding for the season and boy it was a good one to end on. The next few months will be much slower with families, maternity and newborn shoots coming up.

A snippet of Katie and Marc’s surprise wedding on Saturday at . They flew home from Sydney for their “engagement” party but instead, surprised their loved ones by getting married on the spot. There were so many shocked and happy faces as the staff pulled the curtains back to reveal the other half of the room had been set up for a ceremony.

Earlier that afternoon we met on the south coast so they could exchange private vows to one another before we shot some portraits. It was one of those perfect Wellington days where the sun was shining and there was a gentle sea breeze.

I’ve photographed 3 couples from this friend group and know these guys can PARTY. I was ready to capture it all on the d floor 🕺🏻📸

The sweetest elopement with M+D reminding us that love and loved ones are all that matters. Sick of scraping paint off the window getting it ready for renos, they decided to procrastinate by planning an elopement instead. They got ready together and made their way up on the cable car to the Botanic Garden to meet their family and dog Rudy with me as their third wheel. The place they got ready was such a great example of choosing a place that suits your vibe and the day felt so easy and truly unique to them.

Before I became a full-time photographer, I had a thing called workmates. Rachel, Matt, and I all worked on the same floor, so their wedding was extra special for me. I remember the day I found out about their workplace romance, and seeing them tie the knot at Boomrock was such an honor.

They’ve officially taken the title of the lowest-maintenance couple. They left me to do my thing with only one request—“minimal“ wedding, maximum party.” And that they had.

Jackie and Steve married at last weekend with family and friends flown in from the US and all over. It was a beautiful late summers day wedding in the garden nook followed by canapés on the lawn.

J+S wanted a unique experience at their wedding so they organized some stargazing later in the evening so their family could enjoy the clear skies of NZ. It was a truly memorable experience seeing Jupiter through the telescope.

There’s no better feeling than to finally see a couple get married - especially when they’ve had quite a journey to get there. Laurie and Dan came down from Whanganui to elope at Foxglove with their 5 witnesses and celebrant. It was an intimate ceremony looking out onto the water. A big rainbow appeared behind them and stayed throughout the whole ceremony as they said their vows to one another and remembered loved ones they had lost. I won’t lie, it was a particularly emotional one and I may have even hugged Laurie and shared a cry. Later we headed up to my suburb as the sun pushed past the clouds and gave us the most spectacular sunset (and another rainbow!). I’m biased but Roy’s Peak has some serious competition when it comes to views ⛰️

Alex and Chris celebrated their love with an intimate Valentine’s Day wedding in their breathtaking backyard. Their two beautiful children and closest loved ones gathered under perfect skies to witness their vows to one another. The celebration flowed seamlessly from ceremony to a relaxed afternoon of canapés, drinks and lawn games. We set off for sunset before the night really kicked off with shoeies, a down trou run across the lawn, shaving eyebrows (revenge for the groom on his stag do) and dancefloor antics. Thank you Alex and Chris for a wedding that I’ll never forget.

Over the moon to share Holly and Isaac’s magical wedding. These lovebirds flew all the way back from Finland back home to celebrate at the stunning Milk Station in Otaki. What an incredible day filled with laughter, love and dancing. A huge shoutout to the amazing vendor dream team who brought their A-game to create pure wedding by magic ✨⚡️

Nina and Woody | Part ii, Whanganui.

I’m on the biggest come down after 2 epic weekends with the Martin’s. This weekend they celebrated with the rest of their family and friends in a all out black tie cocktail reception in Whanganui. We shot a first look at Virginia Lakes and then headed to Bason Botanic Gardens. We then headed to reception whilst Nina and Woody caught a helicopter and surprised their guests with the grandest entrance ever! I feel so incredibly lucky to be a part of not one, but TWO amazing weddings. THANK YOU N+W.
