Kate and Ryan met on a London pub crawl that quickly turned into a lockdown love story. Now based in Australia, they brought their incredible crew of friends and family across the ditch to Featherston to celebrate at Rose & Smith.

Their day was full of banter, great food, perfect weather, and a seriously unforgettable performance by Kate’s siblings.

Hannah and Nick’s magical wedding at Rose & Smith was truly unforgettable. Surrounded by so much love (160 guests!), beautiful music, heartfelt vows, and even pīwakawaka fluttering through the ceremony, it felt like something out of a dream.

The speeches were next level. One by one, each person who stood up to speak delivered beautifully written, effortlessly witty, and genuinely hilarious words. I genuinely didn’t want them to end.

You could really feel just how deeply loved they are, both individually and as a couple.

(Also they had Garage Project brew a special beer especially for their wedding day 🍻)

Brenna and Baden tied the knot last weekend at surrounded by their loved ones. From the moment I arrived with the girls in the morning right through to a packed dance floor at the end of the night, the energy and excitement never dipped.

Every detail was so thoughtfully considered, from the beautiful florals by the talented , to the stunning Trish Peng gown, the welcome sign and cake featuring their dogs, the second outfit change and of course that SpongeBob SquarePants cookie. The whole day felt effortless.

The weather turned out absolutely perfect, narrowly avoiding the carnage that rolled through the following day.

Katie and Carter’s wedding kept us all on our toes, with the weather cycling through four seasons in a single day. A buried sausage in the garden worked its magic, holding the skies off for the ceremony and gifting us beautiful breaks of sunshine throughout the afternoon. Bright yellows and blues set the tone, with cricket puns and jokes scattered throughout the day, making it unmistakably and wonderfully them.

It was such a joy to be back at the Martinborough Tree Church, a truly one-of-a-kind venue surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Annabelle and Ryan — high school sweethearts who tied the knot last week after 15 years together. They exchanged the most heartfelt vows in front of their closest friends and family at the beautiful . True to them, they did things their way — getting ready with friends at the stunning Olivio Noir, sharing a first look, and easing into a relaxed afternoon together.

“Oh my gosh Yvonne! These are so beautiful! We actually got quite teary looking at them 😂 you’ve done such a wonderful job capturing how it felt to us on the day 💗 so so grateful! It’s so wild to us that these are the sneak peeks!”

Reading that the photos captured how it 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 for them on the day is the sweetest reminder of why I love what I do — because long after the flowers fade and the dress is tucked away, the feeling of your wedding day lingers. Getting to bottle even a little bit of that is the greatest honour. 💗

Last Saturday was one of those real pinch-me moments — a true privilege to be invited to the Waikato to document Megan and Brett’s unforgettable day. From the venue and the styling to the food, the VEIL, and the most cruisey couple on earth, it was perfection from beginning to end. Honestly… how do I come down from here?!

Wedding season is back in full swing and I’m so thrilled about it. Hannah and Jordan got married over the weekend at Dockside with their two beautiful kids, surrounded by family and close friends. It was a relaxed, joy-filled day celebrating love and all the good stuff that comes with it. One of my favourite things about spring weddings is seeing all the colours come to life.

Flora and Maarten flew all the way from Amsterdam for part 2 of their 3 part wedding celebrations. This part consisted of paying respects to family with a Chinese Tea Ceremony at Boomrock. A few days before arriving, Wellington was issued a red warning of gale force winds up to 130km. We quickly made back up plans with the help of the wonderful people at Naumi and the amazingly talented to push the day forward and get some portraits before facing the storm. It was the windiest day in a very long time (schools closed early and trains were stopped!) but that didn’t wipe the smile off their faces. They even braved the winds up at Boomrock 🙌🏻. Legends.

A lot of people don’t realize I do other types of shoots outside of weddings. I’m not surprised, my page only features bride and grooms because I’m too OCD to mess up the grid. This family shoot was so golden and delicious that it would be rude not to. So now that I’ve pulled the bandaid off, you’ll hopefully be seeing more family sessions here. Julia, Nick and Max, you guys were so much fun and such a dream to photograph 💕🥰

Friday marked my last wedding for the season and boy it was a good one to end on. The next few months will be much slower with families, maternity and newborn shoots coming up.

A snippet of Katie and Marc’s surprise wedding on Saturday at . They flew home from Sydney for their “engagement” party but instead, surprised their loved ones by getting married on the spot. There were so many shocked and happy faces as the staff pulled the curtains back to reveal the other half of the room had been set up for a ceremony.

Earlier that afternoon we met on the south coast so they could exchange private vows to one another before we shot some portraits. It was one of those perfect Wellington days where the sun was shining and there was a gentle sea breeze.

I’ve photographed 3 couples from this friend group and know these guys can PARTY. I was ready to capture it all on the d floor 🕺🏻📸
