Realising our potential for an existence free from pain stress and tension. ConTact C.A.R.E is a practical study in ‘The Nature of STILLNESS’. It is a Martial Arts based discipline created in NGATEA New Zealand, by Dale W. Speedy (6th Dan Blackbelt Kiaido-Ryu) and Kym Summers. ConTact C.A.R.E recognises that the skeleton defends itself automatically and independently when impacted by surprise. This results in what we call 'SKELETAL SENSORY SHOCK’. Our perspective is that, the bone 'spiral contracts' at the impact site creating a super sensitive over-contractive area around it, that feels super strong. The rest of the body must then compensate with a counter-weight to maintain balance, this is the felt stress. The client is feeling the compensation workload in the form of pain, stress and/or tension NOT always the cause of it. ConTact C.A.R.E Practitioners are trained to locate and release the hidden CAUSES of what is being felt by the client. ConTact C.A.R.E and the Flinchlock Release method releases the spiral contraction so normal function may return. Simply put, the ConTact C.A.R.E Practitioner is thinking “where is the BONE that’s causing that”. We are skilled in seeing what does not move in a sea of movement. Extra-ordinary movement is created by extra-ordinary STILLNESS. This is our high skill, we understand the POWER of Stillness to Control. ConTact C.A.R.E practitioners are skilled in reading the nature of cause and effect. Accurate Applied Attention by both parties to the Flinchlock cause of what the client feels is one of the keys to the successful outcome. ConTact C.A.R.E has observed that bone shapes and planes of the skull have corresponding shapes and planes in the body. It is a purely pressure-for-pressure relationship with no connection to the brain. It creates the balance angles and pressure in normal function activities, e.g. lifting, and also the reactions created by the body’s automatic self defence to external pressures. The brain intends - the body reacts. We get hurt - the body reacts. ConTact C.A.R.E and the Flinchlock Release method work to free frozen body reactions. ConTact C.A.R.E does this by carefully re-enacting the original situation pressure, by positioning the client to comfort and away from pain. Then using the Flinchlock Release method, which exactly mirrors the pressure the frozen surprise contraction has, with the rhythm of nature, the bone pressure is released. We then facilitate a controlled unravelling out to normal functional position and pressure. As the perceived pressure drops, the bone ‘shapes’ naturally reposition the body posture and shape. The clinical experience is non-intrusive and gentle, the techniques safe and effective. Consultations are carried out with the client fully clothed.
