Imagine a world where woman are witnessed birthing in their power 🩸

Where birth is seen as a natural physiological process that a woman’s body is designed to do. And when left undisturbed, is inherently safe and pure magic.

Giving birth should not be seen as a medical event from the get go. It’s not a disease. And so should not be treated as one.

It is a powerful mystery that belongs to woman and families. It’s the source of humanity. It’s the source of life 🩸

My dream is that more women and more women can reclaim their power in the birth space and beyond. And I am here to support you in doing so.

Curious? Let’s connect! DM me or have a look at my offerings on my website ✨

Kia ora community, Tish here 👋🏾 It's bee a little while since I introduced myself, so thought I would pop on for anyone who's new here.

I’ve spent the last 3 years deep diving into the sacred ways of women and birth. I’ve studied ancestral arts of birthing and caring for postpartum and have been practicing in my community over the last year.

Supporting women through the rite of passage of birth is a soul calling for me. My mother was/is a child birth educator, I was a home birth way back in 90’s, and I birthed my son at home in 2022. I’ve been lucky enough to witness birth and support the pre and post natal journey. And I am so here for it!

My passion for this space awakened when I fell pregnant. Mum had oodles of fantastic holistic books which started the journey. But it was my postpartum experience that really motivated me to rediscover the wise women wisdom I was craving.

And now I get excited thinking about how one woman at a time we are collectively reclaiming our power in the birth space and beyond.

So, if you are walking in the realms of conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum or pregnancy loss, and are searching for some soul support, I'm here for you.

I’m based in Waihī and can travel if needed to locations 1-2hrs from me. Some of my offerings are available online too 🤎

I also have a springer spaniel called Tui (who loves pregnant mamas), I love and adore my little family, I love to frolick in the sea and the bush with other wild women, I have become a green thumb (particularly for my wild flowers and herbs) and spend any moment I have listening to podcasts or reading books about pregnancy, birth, postpartum ~ basically anything to do with this realm. I am a birth nerd for sure haha.

Sending aroha to you wherever you are.

Hot or cold to heal your yoni after birth? 🌹

Before I had Bodhi I had no idea about this! I had only heard of Padsicles – herbals serums that you can put on a pad and place in the fridge/freezer to then pop in your underwear once cooled. Not knowing any different, this is what I did!

🥶

But my intuition was telling me something. I couldn't bear the freezer option which was recommended so instead I just kept it in the fridge...

I now know that cold compress isn't what promotes optimal yoni healing!

Warmth does believe it or not! In fact, warmth is everything for a postpartum mama. Next time I'll be nourishing myself with yoni steaming and sitz baths right from the start. Along with belly binding, nourishing broths, teas and fingers crossed, massage hehe!

🌸

Early postpartum is such a sacred precious time, and our bodies have so much healing to do as mamas. If you're curious about postpartum and how to best support yourself send me a DM!

PS. The yoni steaming herbs I use are from - amazing amazing!

My yoni steaming stool was made by my wonderful husband out of off cuts from our Sauna - possibly the most thoughtful gift a man could give to his woman. Thank you

The summer season has been a culmination of so much goodness brewing—and now I’m feeling ready to officially launch my mother-centered doula offerings!

🌙

From my own postpartum experience, I felt called to deep dive into the world of nourishing the new mother. In today’s modern context, most of us don’t have the village that perhaps we all had in indigenous times.

Even with the support of our own family, a midwife and friends, there’s an emotional—spiritual support missing. I imagined the medicine woman who would listen, hold space for me, make cups of nourishing medicinal tea, hear my birth story, support my healing, give nourishing touch and know about Yoni steaming, remind me I can still meditate, tell me I’m doing well, trust in me and give me wisdom when I asked... (Ps my mum did do a lot of this, thank you mum!)

My longing for this led me to my postpartum doula training, and more than anything to trust the medicine woman within. And I’m now super excited to have found a way to weave my desire to support other mamas through this sacred beginning—while still being here for Bodhi when he needs me.

Kia ora community🌜 just popping on here to say I appreciate you all for following along the Honey Pot journey. It's been a big shift evolving into motherhood! My offerings are a reflection of this shift, supporting and nourishing mamas from before birth and through the portal into motherhood. It's been such a treat to work with all the mamas I've connected with so far.

My intention for the year is to connect with more mamas, hold space for us coming together, one on one support for postpartum mamas, and my favourite part, holding ceremony before and after birth.

I also intend to only use social media sparingly for announcements of gatherings, offerings and updates! And focus my energy into in person connection ✨ I'll be announcing my doula offerings for 2024 soon, keep your eyes peeled 👀

Arohanui, Tish xx

Closing out 2023 ✨ thanks to all the wonderful humans who I’ve practiced with this year – whether it’s been yoga or my mama-centered care offerings! It’s been an honour to hold space for the transition into motherhood with mother blessings & my very first closing of the bones ceremony just a few weeks ago. Not to mention my own closing of the bones, which felt timely as the year came to an end. So much expansion and growth! And so much gratitude for all the learnings. Very excited to connect with more amazing woman in 2024, but for now my intention is to rest!

Also huge thanks to Jenna for your care, support and wisdom through my mama journey 🪶✨ you’re amazing! Anyone needing a doula in Hamilton, she’s your woman!

Sending all the good vibes to everyone and lots of aroha ❤️🙏🏽🌿

Piccys are a combination of goodness from my closing of the bones, the closing ceremony for , a beautiful mother blessing (only one I have pictures from 😅) and some snaps from my yoga studio 🙏🏽

Just over year together ✨💫 becoming a mother has been all the things. Learning to truly surrender is motherhood in its essence for me. I've expanded in so many ways, discovered things about myself, learnt to juggle the many balls, and dance this dance with grace – most of the time – of course there have been moments of losing it too. I've felt the wildest love, raw and pure. And also been bought to rage within at the immensity of holding it all.

But we don't have to hold it all. It's okay to ask for help, to allow tears when we need the release, to lean on the support of your whanau and community, to find the joy in all the little magic moments, to let go a little – f**k the mess, and surrender again and again! Guiding these little beings is magical, and the more support we can have for mothers and families the better. It really is the most important work, and mostly goes so unseen by the wider collective. But we see each other, and we can hold each other in this too ❤️

So for any mamas reading this, I often find comfort in knowing how potent our mothering is, and knowing I'm not the only one awake at night comforting my little one 🥰 I often think of all of us, and feel the power in that. We are a tribe of women all in it together, literally mothering 24/7.

A big thanks to all of the wonderful wāhine who are walking the journey with me and to all those who inspire and support me – you all know who you are. It wouldn't have been the year it has without you all xx

So what's next from here? 2024 is bringing more space for me to weave some more mahi in the realms of mother-centered care. I'm so looking forward to releasing some new offerings that have been brewing for awhile... so watch this space! ❤️

Spring Reflections 🌸 Motherhood has been an ebb and flow of expansion, and then contraction. Breathing in, and then remembering to breathe out.

We’ve just passed the Spring Equinox, stepping into lighter days. The energy has been feeling different for a few weeks now ~ more expansive, inviting, warm, exciting.

This Equinox, I walked the neighbourhood and foraged to make a mandala on our lawn. Noticing all the blossoms blooming and the colours exploding in every nook, and in our garden, I couldn’t help but feel it was a reflection of my own inner world. I feel like I’ve finally moved into spring, after a long winter season.

Creativity is rising up into my solar plexus… and now more than ever I’m leaning into surrendering again and again. Sometimes I feel a stuck-ness, as I navigate not having the time to create and do what I would like to. And sometimes I feel expansive with ideas flowing through me, and filled with so much gratitude to spend delicious time with Bodhi and Tui 🐾

I’m tuning into allowing the flow of ideas and instead of feeling like I need to action everything, instead they can make there way to paper. With the intention to take things s l o w. Perhaps these ideas will come to fruition next year or the next lol.

But the two things I’m calling in for the near future are: one-on-one sessions, to explore somatic healing through movement, sound and energy release AND rituals and ceremony around rites of passage: Mother Blessings & Closing of the Bones. These are landing early 2024.

If the above interests you please get in touch! I’m Waihi based but will travel to close towns, or very happy to support via online realms too.

Sending love and spring blessings, Tish 🌸

About Honey Pot

Connection, the most meaningful purpose in life, right? Honey Pot is a space to connect and move with the flow of life, together. So often after yoga, meditation or whatever your practice may be, everyone rushes off, missing the perfect opportunity to connect with the incredible humans you've just experienced something magical with. If only there was a space where it was encouraged to just be for a little longer, to stay, to talk, to hug and hold one another... Hmmm oh yes there is somewhere. It's the Honey Pot.
