Celebrating Dr Andrew Webster’s Distinguished Fellowship 🏅

It is with great pride and admiration that I announce a significant honour awarded to one of our Partners — Dr Andrew Webster, who has been named a Distinguished Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP).

This prestigious award is one of the highest accolades conferred by the College and recognises outstanding contributions to general practice and to the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders. Dr Webster has been recognised for his exceptional service, leadership, mentorship, and sustained excellence over the course of his career. It is a testament not only to his professional achievements but also to the respect he commands among his peers and the broader healthcare community.

At Silverdale Medical, we have long known the impact Andrew has had — from his clinical wisdom and collegial generosity to the deep care he shows his patients and team alike. This national recognition is richly deserved, and we are privileged to have him as a leader and exemplar in our midst.

Silverdale Medical Health Coaches Start Walking Group

We are proud to announce that today November 7th 2024 the Silverdale Medical Health Coaches started a walking group. Walking is an excellent affordable and accessible form of exercise that most people can participate in. Walking outdoors is good for fitness, leading to improved physical health, reducing resting heart rate, reducing total cholesterol, and moderating body weight. Walking groups can be beneficial for improving mood, mental clarity, and by participating you can moderate risks of depression. Being part of a regular walking group can also provide social connections and a sense of community. A group also provides additional elements of personal security, motivation, and support. We strive to create more opportunities for our patients to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

Depending on the interest expressed to participate we will arrange groups. If enrolled patients of Silverdale Medical, Weiti Creek Medical, and Millwater Medical would like to participate they can email the clinic to find out more.
