Our body keeps score........

Through it's messages, symptoms and nudges - our body is telling us that we need to attend to something - and not with just a quick fix.

A quick fix is often the reason why these nudges come back louder and stronger than before - because the root cause was not dealt with in the first instance! A quick fix can mask the pain, help you to feel better, however you are never going to receive a full recovery or overcome an event - often traumatic. Instead - we need to dig deep inside of us to see what the problem is and how we can learn to resolve from the inside out.

Understanding, we will never heal ourselves from the outside, instead our healing must come from inside us. We need to be patient, learn, work through, bring peace and calm in order to heal ourselves from the inside! This will take time - just as it has taken time, many hours, days, months, experiences, emotions for us to find where our health, fitness and wellbeing is today.

We may experience...
Our nervous system shifts into high alert
Our breathing changes to chest and short.
Our digestion slows down.
Our immune system suppresses.
Our lymphatic system becomes clogged.

Many of us in the world have been affected by some traumatic event in our lifetime, recent pandemic, earthquakes, in the past years. Even if you feel you have healed from this - there could still be something that our body is holding on to. This can often be called "issue in our tissues" where we hold a lot of tension from our experience in our muscles and fascia. If we often have pain returning in the same area of our body - shoulders, upper back, lower back - this could be our body holding onto memories or trauma.

But there can be so many other whispers too that often we ignore...
Eventually, this can lead to:
• Adrenal fatigue
• Burnout
• Thyroid issues
• Hormonal imbalance

Just know that this can all be released and healed once we establish the emotion, experience or trauma that initially occurred.

Healing trauma involves:
• Prioritising safety so that our body can let go.
• Repairing the nervous system using lymphatic therapy, breathwork
• Gradually rebuilding trust in our body.

Healing takes time—years even—but remember our body is not broken; our body is recovering.

A great book to introduce you to this "The Body Keeps The Score" by Bessel Van Der Kolk

Nothing is more precious than being in the present moment.
Fully Alive, Fully Aware

Our world would be so much calmer and peaceful if we were to come into the present moment often during our day - even just for a moment - to take a breath, smell the roses.

The world we live in at present is chaos, constantly changing, unpredictable, people are confused, sad and there is a low vibration and energy. Making some time out to "just be" - no need for thoughts - just using our senses - what can we hear, see, feel and taste in that moment - without judgement. Distract these with some deep belly breathing or a guided meditation if the mind is still busy.

Be Grateful - you are here - in the now and know that you can make small choices each day to change our state. We are energy and energy is life - lets make it high vibing!

We can learn a lot from our furry friends, living in the moment; always ready to play; tricks up their sleeves; excited to see us in the morning or when we get home; no judgement and always aware of what we are up to - and they are so happy when they are with us - their Mums and Dads.

So often our thoughts, feelings and emotions are coming from a negative point, and that is because our mind and body have a natural negative bias!

It is the natural way our body is trying to heal and protect us!

We can support our healing body by not pushing or ignoring these negative thoughts, feelings, emotions down or away - but by acknowledging, accepting and letting these go on by - a bit like clouds passing. See them, feel them and let them go! A great practice to try when you have a worry, or challenge come up again, see it as a cloud, learn from this and let it go!

Often we may catch ourselves in the same thought patterns, the same life situations - having the same results or outcomes for days, months, years - even decades because we haven't resolved the challenge at the root core!

Getting to this root core and making some tweaks or in most cases letting past experiences go, changes our vibration and energy. Every living thing is energy and whatever vibration we are living in - we will get more of. Check out your vibration energy and what you are running on most days! Low vibrations will attract more low vibration - like fear, scarcity, anger, judgement, criticism, blame.
The same goes for high vibration - love, abundance, joy, happiness, curiosity, self care - and wouldn't we want more of this lightness.

I have found - setting an intention each day of how "I want to be..." is bringing the high vibe energy to play with great outcomes and results.
As you wake in the morning, be grateful for your rest, acknowledge, how you are feeling, be curious by any low energy, thoughts and emotions. Gratitude can change your energy and help to set your intentions for positivity in your day!

Take note of what you wish for - as there will be more of that to come to you!
If you are always thinking of things you don't want to happen or have - they are more likely to come!

Something I have always known instinctively is that I need to be living either near the sea or the mountains. Both hold a sense of mystique and mystery, strength and power, a beauty but a knowing to respect them!

I love to spend time around both of them, they balance me! I am grateful to be living where I do - in the country - near the mountains, however I still need to visit the beach and sea to bring back balance and nurture!

Something about the sea air, waves coming up onto the beach - big and small - seems to lighten the load somewhat.

Understanding our health history and life story enables us to recognise how our current state of health, fitness, and wellbeing has developed over the years. This perspective provides valuable insights into the underlying causes and for us to find effective solutions to improve or initiate our healing process.

Our healing process will never be a quick fix, instead a positive process of lifestyle choices done consistently - small daily steps - bringing outcomes and results that we want to see.

Manifestations may come as:

* Pain, stiffness in muscle/joints
* Bloating, puffiness
* Brain Fog
* Poor Sleep
* Fatigue
* Anxiety/Depression

Remember our body is not failing us, nor is it broken - it is trying to protect us!

Play is something we spent hours doing and loving as kids, bringing happy and joy to our lives. We learnt and grew in play, we truly lived Life!

So when did that all stop and we became part of the daily grind and began to live in autopilot?

It is time to take our Life back, make time every day to play and bring that happy, joy and lightness as it should be!

Find some play in all that we do each day - in our movement, creating and eating meals, connecting with others, out in nature, at work!
