Whānau!

The kaupapa continues to grow! We are excited to announce that Ahu Collective - Nurturing Intergenerational Change, alongside Kahungunu Ki Wairarapa and Potangaroa Education, will be delivering the Tikanga Programme on behalf of Wairarapa Community Probation (Correction).

This is a powerful opportunity for our whānau who are currently serving probation sentences and for many who have been trapped in the system for too long. Our approach, unlike many others who hold this kaupapa, aims to provide long-term and meaningful follow-up support, including pathways into our rehabilitation programmes and our other service deliveries.

Tēnā tātou,

As you are all aware, Ahu Collective—Environmental is about to deliver its first native planting/flood resilience contract. It has been a significant journey to prepare for this, and we have pushed our capacity to get this across the line, from health and safety to liability insurance.

We want to take this opportunity to greatly acknowledge Greater Wellington Regional Council, who have trusted and supported us through the process. Finally, we extend our gratitude to Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa for their continued manaakitanga and, in particular, the contributions you have made to this kaupapa.

We are extremely excited to provide training and employment for ten of our whānau, including two of our taiohi.

Stay tuned, and we will be documenting the journey as it unfolds.

Tēnā tātou,

Just as we observe the natural world preparing for shifts and growth, so too is our kaupapa.

Over the past few months, we have been intentionally evolving, and with the emergence of our new board, an array of changes has come.

Firstly, we are excited to announce the convergence of Nurturers of Change Charitable Trust and Ahu Collective, to now form Ahu Collective Charitable Trust. This kaupapa will continue to nurture our social solutions, including our rehabilitation and youth development programmes.

Secondly, we'd like to introduce a new business arm of our ecosystem: Ahu Collective—Environmental. This extension of our kaupapa will deliver taiao solutions, from our maunga to the moana. This includes native plant restoration, flood resilience, civil infrastructure, and more.

Our key focus moving forward is to achieve whānau and whenua development.

E te whānau! We are edging closer to the start of our Native Planting contract (Flood Resilience).

Which not only empowers us to provide training, upskilling and employment for our whānau—But it allows us to revitalize 'Kaitiakitanga' in our whenua and awa.

We have officially handed the mauri over to our new board! It has been a deliberate journey to ensure we have the right people to nurture and uphold the mana of our kaupapa. As always, the universe has aligned in divine fashion.

We are excited to introduce our new board over the next few months and to share some of the incredible kaupapa we are bringing forth from Te Kore.

It's been a privilege to watch our team work as an efficient ecosystem and navigate the challenges and tasks a head of them.

Ngahere-o-Wāhine has been quietly evolving.

Last month, we honoured a sacred milestone—celebrating the graduation of our wāhine who walked the full length of our kaupapa. A powerful moment to witness their individual and collective journeys, and the profound impact on their lives, their whānau, and the condition of their whakapapa.

We’ve since welcomed a new wave of wāhine, stepping bravely into their own rite of passage.

Through the portal of Te Whare Āuruku – The Innerversity, they have begun the sacred work of self-mastery—courageously exploring every layer of their being, from Te Ao Pēpi (Infancy) to Te Ao Wāhine (Adulthood).

Over the next month, our wāhine will continue this deep exploration in the nurturing embrace of our Ngahere (Ecosystem) surrounded by those who have walked before them, and held by the strength of our pou.
