As part of the Rural Roadshow, Hon Matt Doocey, Associate Health Minister with responsibility for Rural Health and Minister for Mental Health, visited Te Kuiti to hear directly from their rural community about local health care needs and opportunities for Government support.

We welcomed the chance to meet with Minister Doocey, local MP Barbara Kuriger and Minister for Rural Communities Mark Patterson to share insights into our mahi. Our team operate remotely and connect virtually, so this was a valuable opportunity to highlight in person how our partnership with rural practices and communities is delivering meaningful outcomes and supporting better health in rural Aotearoa.

“Since Ka Ora launched, we have regularly used their services over weekends! Having small children, it’s been a great option for us as a family to give some reassurance instead of long waits in ED with small children.

We have always found Ka Ora staff thorough, prompt to fit you in with an appointment, and it’s great getting to talk to a real person while being in the comfort of your own space.

We have a great relationship with our local GP, and whilst they’re not available on the weekends, we have found Ka Ora great as a substitute.

We have always finished calls satisfied with a way forward, whether it be a trip to ED upon their advice or treatment at home.”

Happy International Nurses Day! 💙🌍

At Ka Ora Telecare, we are lucky to work alongside an incredible team of triage telehealth nurses. Our nurses help assess patients and guide them toward the care they need in remote and rural areas of Aotearoa.
