We’ve been taught to blame age for almost everything…

Low energy? “I’m just getting older.”
Aching joints? “That’s what happens with age.”
Poor sleep, weight gain, brain fog? “Part of the package.”

But what if that’s not actually true?

Age itself isn’t a diagnosis. It’s a timeline.
What I see, over and over again, is that many of the symptoms we blame on ageing are really the result of accumulation: years of stress, disconnection from natural rhythms, nutrient depletion, inflammation, and a body that hasn’t been properly supported.

The body doesn’t suddenly “break” at 40, 50, or 60.
It adapts… until it can’t anymore.

And here is the important part:
When you start supporting the body in the way it actually needs (nourishment, rest, rhythm, activation, cleansing) things can shift. At any age.

I’ve seen:
• Energy return
• Sleep deepen
• Pain reduce
• Cycles regulate
• Clarity come back

Not because someone got younger…
…but because their body finally got what it was asking for.

Age is not the enemy.
Neglect is.
And it’s never too late to begin listening differently.

There’s something quietly powerful happening down at the coast here some mornings…

A group of women gathering at the edge of the sea, breathing deeply, laughing, hesitating just a little… and then stepping in together.

Like the beautiful ritual of the Gore Bay ladies, this isn’t just a swim: it’s a return that has been going for 2 years now.

Cold water sea dipping, especially through the seasons, offers more than just a thrill. there are definitely health benefits:

❄️ Nervous system reset
That initial gasp? It awakens the body, then quickly teaches it to regulate. Over time, this builds resilience, helping us move from stress to calm more efficiently in daily life.

🌊 Circulation + lymphatic movement
Cold water encourages blood to move deeply through the body, supporting detoxification and reducing stagnation (something many of us quietly carry).

🧠 Mood + mental clarity
Regular dippers often speak of feeling clearer, lighter, more able to cope. There’s a reason for that: cold exposure supports endorphins and can gently lift low mood.

🔥 Inflammation support
For those with aches, pains, or inflammatory conditions, the cold can act as a powerful ally when used consistently and respectfully.

🌿 Connection
To the seasons. To the elements. To each other.
This may be the most important medicine of all.
Because it’s not really about the cold.
It’s about remembering we are part of nature; not separate from it.

And when you step into the sea in winter…
you don’t just build physical strength. You build spirit.

If you’ve ever thought about trying it, maybe this is your sign.
You don’t have to stay long. You don’t have to be brave.
You just have to begin.

It’s not the big choices that usually get us into trouble… it’s the little ones, repeated daily.

👉 Staying up “just one more hour” night after night.
👉 Reaching for sugar when we’re stressed.
👉 Skipping movement because we’re “too busy.”
👉 Ignoring stress until it spills over into our health.

These small habits might feel harmless in the moment, but over time, they drain our energy, disturb our sleep, weaken our immunity, and leave us wondering why we don’t feel like ourselves anymore.

The good news? Just as bad habits slowly pull us down, healthy habits (stacked gently, day by day) can lift us back up.

🌱 Start small. Be consistent. Your future self will thank you.

If you need help improving your habits just reach out! It's never too late.

This week I'd like to point at an issue that seems to be more and more happening. A well known herbalist has written the below blog post about Fad's ... He writes that herbal fads may not necessarily be a good thing. Most of the time, they’re promoted by big supplement companies looking to inflate their bottom line, even if the truth is a bit fudged to get there (or even flat-out lies!). The short of it is: consumer beware! not all is what it seems out there 💔. Check it out for yourself in the link.

If you walk into a hip smoothie shop or health food store, you’ll undoubtedly be flooded with the newest “superfoods” and cure-all herbs. Like so many things in our modern culture, herbal medicine also has its own “fads,” as it seems as if there’s almost a new one in style each season. A...

The beautiful Hawthorn. Some might call it a bain but in herbal medicine she is a strong and powerful ally. Traditionally used in the treatment of everything related to the heart, she normalises the heart function by strengthening the heart muscle and increasing the blood flow through the heart. She assists in reducing high blood pressure and hardening of or plaque in the arteries and so many more heart related problems.
Next time you go past a Hawthorn you might look at her a bit differently ❤️
