Imposter syndrome is when you feel like you don’t actually deserve what you’ve achieved, even if you’ve worked hard for it, which is both kinda weird but also extremely common. A really easy tip to start overcoming it is, instead of listening to the voice in your head that says “I don’t belong here,” start paying attention to real evidence. Feelings can lie, but facts usually don’t.
Proof can be simple things, like how you have overcome things, grown personally or had success in an area of life. When you write these things down or remember them properly, it becomes harder for your brain to say you’re “faking it.” You’re not guessing anymore - you’re looking at real moments that show what you’re capable of.
This helps because imposter syndrome is mostly about forgetting your wins and focusing only on your mistakes. Everyone messes up, even people who look super confident. The difference is that confident people don’t use mistakes as proof they don’t belong. They see them as part of learning, not a sign they’ve been exposed.
So when that imposter feeling shows up, don’t argue with it emotionally. Just pull out your proof. Remind yourself of what you’ve already done and how far you’ve come. You don’t need to feel confident all the time, you just need enough evidence to keep going. And over time, that’s how confidence actually grows.
