Good Life Changers Time catches up with us. Life catches up with us. Family and work takes over. Suddenly we're fifty and seeking to regain elements of youth.

Aspirations get put aside due to the daily grind and personal health, fitness and well-being are overlooked.

Plant-based foods are rich in nutrients, phytochemicals, antioxidants and fibre. They're also anti-inflammatory. All of this protects against damage to our cells as we age, which helps prevent disease.

Some great advice in this post from the ABC.

There are no quick fixes or short cuts to living longer and healthier lives, but the science is clear on the key principles. Here are five things you can do to extend your lifespan and improve your health, writes Hassan Vally.

Life can be hard. Fitness at our age competes with many other elements of our lives.

Even if the kids have left home, we seem busier than ever. However, given our age group is prime for a range of illnesses and injuries, make health and fitness matter.

At 59, I recently completed 200 workout sessions with BFT Glenorchy The sessions include a range of cardio and strength units progressing across a number of weeks.

Why do I like ? Firstly they have a regular 8 wk challenge with strong coaching support in addition to recipes and health tips.

Secondly each session has coaches on the floor. Not on their phones. Not sitting in the office - but on the floor coaching.

Thirdly - wherever you travel in Australia or the world, you can access the local BFT studio for no extra cost. How damn cool is that?

Kate has now joined BFT as well which means we can workout together.

We saw our friends from Passionary Plants today and bought two new Lithops - often called “living stones” but they also look a bit like cloven hooves.

These small succulents are native to the deserts of South Africa and thrive in compacted, sandy soil with little water and blistering hot temperatures.

We’re looking forward to see how ours grow over time.

We all start the New Year with good intentions or resolutions.

Many of us want the coming year to be better then the past 12 months with achieving key goals.

Focusing on your health and well-being doesn't have to translate to starting a new diet or workout plan, though.

You can set your sights on taking charge of your mental health, finally optimizing a better sleep routine or diving headfirst into reclaiming your space (wave goodbye to messy closets and disastrous bathrooms).

Make your resolutions simple and achievable. Every little step forward is a win.

#46: Write to yourself every day.

Proud of these two amazing women - the brains behind and finalists in the innovation awards. The younger generation give us a great faith about the future.

Walking with daughter and Merlot on the Wellington Belt. A steep 4km walk through awesome (almost prehistoric) bush full of bird life - right in the city precinct.
