"The Midlife Manifesto: Designing Your 'Hell Yes!' Life"

Hey there, fabulous midlife ladies!

Remember last week’s post about Finding Balance in the Midlife Hustle and creating your very own Wheel of Life?

Well, now it's time for a snapshot of your life – a visual representation of where you are right now and where you dream of being.

Think about it: everything in your life up to this point, whether consciously or unconsciously, has been shaped by you.

Most of us cruise through life, feeling like it's just happening to us.

But guess what?

In midlife, we suddenly wake up to the fact that we've been passengers on a sailing boat. 🚢

Picture this: you're on that boat, and it dawns on you that you're the only one left on board.

The tides and waves of life have been steering you wherever they please.

It's time to grab the helm and take control of your journey. 🌊

So, let's talk about how to create the midlife you've always dreamed of, with a focus on becoming the person you want to be.

First, a reality check: you are where you are, and that's perfectly fine.

Accept it, and let's pivot to crafting the midlife we desire.

Have you ever thought about where you want to be in five years?

Can you pinpoint a moment and say, "This is exactly where I want to be"?

I'm wondering if you've put it in writing.

Think about your life in one, three, or five years.

What do you want it to feel like?

What would make your midlife a resounding "HELL YES!"?

A life that fuels your excitement, a life that gives you boundless energy just thinking about it.

I often tell my clients, "Follow your energy!" Plan it out!

If your vision for the future doesn't scream "HELL YES!" and flood you with enthusiasm, it might not be the right path for you.

So, here's a little tip:

Use a Wheel of Life to get a snapshot of where you are right now, and then use the questions in this post to map out your "HELL YES!" midlife. 🎡

I’m dying to know – what does your "HELL YES!" midlife look like?
Share your dreams with me!

🌟 Finding Balance in the Midlife Hustle 🌟

Hey there, amazing midlife women!

Life gets crazy, doesn't it?

When we're juggling a thousand things or diving headfirst into a special project, it's easy to feel like we're losing our balance.

But guess what?

There's a nifty tool to help us regain that equilibrium: the Wheel of Life®!

What's the Wheel of Life, some of you may ask?

It’s like a snapshot of your life – a visual representation of where you are now and where you want to be.

So, let's take a peek and see how we can steer it back on track.

Creating Your Own Wheel of Life

First, let's craft your personal Wheel of Life.

You can download this free Wheel of Life pdf tool from mindtools.com (link below) or any cool Wheel of Life app.

If you're feeling artsy, go old-school and create your own by hand!

Brainstorm Your Life Areas

What matters most to you?
Your roles, your passions, your priorities?

Write down the six to eight dimensions of your life on the spokes of your Wheel.

It's your life canvas, so paint it your way!

Assess Each Area

Now comes the fun part!

Rate each dimension from 0 (low) to 10 (high) based on how much attention you're giving it.

Draw the scores on your Wheel of Life, and voilà, you've got a personalised snapshot of your life!

Connect the Dots

Join up, those marks and take a look at your Life Wheel.

Does it spin smoothly, or is it a little wobbly?

Let's aim for a nice, balanced ride!

Define Your Ideal Balance

There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some areas will naturally demand more focus at different times.

So, what's your ideal balance in each area?

Plot those scores on your Wheel, too, and let's aim for harmony!

Taking Action

You've got your current balance and your ideal balance.

Now, let's bridge the gaps.

Could you identify the areas that need some love?

It could be time to start something new, or it's time to delegate and let go of what's dragging you down.

Commit to these actions and bring that Wheel of Life into perfect harmony!

Ladies, remember, it's your life, your canvas, and your journey.

Use the Wheel of Life to guide you toward the balance and fulfilment you deserve.

🌟Empowering Midlife Women: Breaking Free from the Toxic Achievement Trap🌟

I've been reflecting a lot lately on something that many of us, especially midlife women, often grapple with – the toxic pressure of achievement. Society bombards us with this notion that no matter what we do, it's never enough.

The never-ending cycle of striving for more success, more recognition, and more validation can feel like an exhausting hamster wheel leading nowhere.

In the midst of this pressure, it's easy to feel invisible, especially as a midlifer. But here's the truth: you are enough, just as you are. Your worth isn't determined by the number of accolades you receive or the milestones you achieve. It's time to break free from this toxic cycle and find empowerment in your own authenticity.

Here are five tips to help you reclaim your power and stop the toxic achievement trap:

1️⃣ . Stop Working Yourself Into the Ground: Your worth is not tied to how much you work. Take breaks, rest, and recharge. Your well-being matters more than any deadline or project.

2️⃣ . Be Your Own Biggest Fan: We often criticise ourselves more harshly than anyone else could. Practice self-compassion and celebrate your victories, no matter how small they may seem. You deserve your own kindness.

3️⃣ . Reevaluate Your Priorities: Shift your focus from pursuing perfection to what truly matters – your relationships, passions, and overall well-being. A perfect home or a top performance at work won't bring lasting happiness; genuine connections and self-care will.

4️⃣ . Snip the Tie Between Achievement and Self-Worth: Your value as a person is inherent and unchanging. You don't need external validation to prove your worth. Believe in your capabilities and embrace your uniqueness.

5️⃣ . Show Love and Appreciation: Every day, express your love and gratitude to the people who matter to you. Simple gestures can make a world of difference and remind both you and others that you are valued.

Additionally, it's crucial to unplug from the stress loop created by others' expectations. Don't let external pressures dictate your self-worth. By taking these steps, you can break free from the toxic achievement mindset and cultivate a sense of fulfilment and contentment from within.

Remember, you hold the key to helping yourself and others feel like they matter in this world.

Let's support each other in this journey towards self-love, authenticity, and genuine connections.

Embracing the Power of Now in midlife

It's amazing how life has a way of surprising us, especially after hitting the big 5-0 seven years ago!

My girls were leaving the nest back then, and I found myself at a crossroads.

I realised it was time to embrace the present and intentionally live my best life.

That's why I'm here in the breathtaking Grand Cayman Islands in the Caribbean, soaking up the beauty of the moment with my husband, Steve. 😎

After more than a decade as a couple’s therapist, helping countless couples find their way back to happiness, I decided it was time for a change.

I closed my successful relationship therapy business and embarked on a new adventure, one that had been calling me for years. 🚀

Eight years ago, I trained as a coach, and now, I'm stepping into that role with a renewed sense of purpose.

Coaching midlife women and couples is exhilarating and, I must admit, a tad bit scary.

But hey, isn't that where the magic happens? ✨

What's truly exciting is the opportunity to recreate social friendships, connect with amazing people, and create new experiences.

Life is too short to stick with what's comfortable, and I'm here to embrace every opportunity that comes my way. 🌟

I'm looking forward to this incredible journey of growth, learning, and helping others find their own path to fulfilment.

If you're in a similar stage of life or just want to connect, feel free to reach out.

Let's make the most of every moment together! 💪🌞

🌟 Let's take a moment to talk about something that many of us go through: the midlife phase. 🌸

Midlife isn't just a chronological milestone; it's a transformative journey of introspection and re-evaluation. For all the incredible women, this phase can bring about a mix of emotions –nostalgia for what was to anticipation for what's to come. 🌺

Navigating changing roles, relationships, and life goals might stir up feelings of emptiness, moments of depression, and bouts of anxiety. And guess what? It's okay to feel this way. 🤗 Remember, you're not alone on this path.

Think of this phase as an opportunity for growth and self-discovery. It's a time to reflect on the incredible journey you've had so far and to set your intentions for the chapters ahead. 📖

Surround yourself with positive energy and supportive people who uplift and understand you. 💕 Reach out to friends who have been there, embrace new hobbies, explore your passions, and most importantly, show yourself some much-deserved self-love. 🌻

So, let's raise a toast to the amazing women who are fearlessly navigating this new chapter! 🥂 Your resilience, wisdom, and spirit are awe-inspiring. Remember, you're not losing a part of yourself; you're evolving into the magnificent person you're meant to be. 🌈

Week 7 of daily tools for building a deeper connection and intimacy series.

If fondness and admiration for your partner are fading, you can help bring them back with the following exercise.

As simple as this exercise seems, it is very powerful.

💓 Monday- S*x is usually ( or can be ) quite satisfying in the relationship.
💟 Plan an erotic evening for the two of you.

💓 Tuesday- We have come a long way together.
💟 Write down all you have accomplished as a team.

💓 Wednesday- I think we can weather any storm together.
💟 Reminisce about having it through a hard time.

💓 Thursday- We enjoy each other's sense of humour.
💟 Watch a comedy movie together.

💓 Friday- My mate can be cute.
💟Get dressed up elegant evening together. Or, if you don't like that idea, plan another kind of evening out you would enjoy.
