My introduction into bodywork, started in the early 2000βs with a horse that was off the track and in much need of some bodily corrections. After trying numerous treatments for my horse, I was told by a friend of mine to get Anne Kershaw in to look at my bent out of shape horse. From there, Anne made regular visits to both my horse(s) and myself, in the North Island and later when I moved to Christchurch.
In 2015 I started the Zero Balancing Certification process with Anne as my mentor, to become a certified Zero Balancing practitioner with the Zero Balancing Association New Zealand/Australia (ZBNZA). Zero Balancing is a gentle non-invasive way to deal with stress. It is beneficial for a wide range of people and is effective in many ways. The integration of western knowledge of body structure with an eastern understanding of energy and healing. Zero Balancing originated in the USA from Fritz Smith in the 1970βs, a doctor of Osteopathy, and Master of Acupuncturist. It is the first bodywork technique to focus on body energy (tension) with body structure (skeleton), using a skilled touch known as "interface", it is gentle and non-invasive, yet a powerful system that balances energy in the deepest tissues of the body - the bones, and ligaments and soft tissue. Zero Balancing (ZB) is a hands on bodywork system. ZB is gentle and focuses on the whole person while also addressing specific needs. Pain often occurs where energy flow is blocked, or weakened. This can be caused by emotional or mental stress or as a result of an accident or injury. Zero Balancing works with the whole body, releasing tension through bone, whilst being able to address specific areas of physical pain. Zero Balancing may help . . .
