Did I tell you I lost 50 kgs in 2 years…… without dieting?

I never planned on being a mother

I didn’t want to bring children into a broken world

But it happened. I had 2 kids in 2 years.

I put on 25kgs with each child and faced a stranger I didn’t recognise in the mirror

I was lost in a whole new world. Isolated. Overwhelmed and fat.

In a new country. In a new life, I had lost my way.

It felt like I had lost my power and my choices had been taken away

I was a successful businesswoman leading a life of freedom, not slavery.
Now, my identity felt lost forever.

I had dedicated my WHOLE life to avoiding motherhood.
Now look….here it is.
It now WAS my whole life.

You see life had a funny way of working sometimes.

Your destiny was written before you were born

Your life lessons may hurt but you chose them to help your spiritual evolution.

Remember in life to count your blessings…..

No matter what the outcome is, it is always the right one…. No matter how painful

So I learnt to love myself again

To stop punishing myself for the beautiful gifts that god had given me, my children.

To release my fears about being a terrible mother, and embrace making the most of each day

To find ways to hold onto a moment of happiness and let that light shine through on the darkest days.

Within a year of my last child being born, I was back to my high school weight. 60kgs

No diets.

No exercise regime

Just an attitude of gratitude and a deeper understanding of the path I walk in this world

With 2 kids in tow.

My love goes out to everyone that this mandate is affecting. 💔🙏💕
As you go about your business I endeavor you to approach every situation you encounter with kindness.

Look at every person you meet as if their lives are about to be changed forever.
For reasons you may not understand, you may go to your doctor's practice tomorrow to find your gp of 20years is no longer there.
You may arrive at school drop off to find the teacher that has worked so hard to help your child find their place in the world is no longer there.
You may attend your lawyers appointment to find you have been assigned someone who knows nothing about your case because your family lawyer is no longer there.
You may arrive at your midwife appointment to realize there is actually none available to care for you because your midwife along with many others, are no longer there.
You may arrive at your grandma's aged care facility to find the nurse that would sit and read her favorite books to her is...no longer there.

You may arrive to your kindergarten drop off to find the head teacher, the one who supported you through that tough divorce, is no longer there.

See as you go about your business today there are thousands and thousands of PEOPLE, thousands and thousands of HUMANS, that for reasons that are NOBODY'S BUSINESS, are soon facing the last day of a career they worked 10 years to obtain.

Whatever your belief, profession, religion, race, socioeconomic stand point in life; if you can't see that today of all days...the world needs some extra kindness, then I would question your humility, your humanity and ones humbleness.

You don't have to understand someone's decision to respect it, and one day I assure you, one of those people listed above who's career was ripped out from under them...

You're going to need them, just as desperately as they needed you...to be kind.

My journey hasn't always been easy.

Like a lot of you, I didn't always show the hard parts or let on that I wasn't happy.

Until I hit rock bottom and was at my lowest. It was then that I KNEW I needed to make a change, do something different to get out of the destructive patterns I was in. I found my community, took the risk and decided to go all in.

And my life changed.

I sit on the other side of happiness now, no longer an outsider looking in. I am deeply connected to my self and my soul. Most of you know that I have gone through this process because now I want to share it with as many people as possible. This is why I chose to share my story in Journey To My Soul: Deeply Honest Stories of Transformation, Rebirth and Healing- a powerful collection of stories that will be published in November.

I want you to know that when you are at your darkest moments, there is always a way out.

Sure the process isn't always easy, but it is rewarding and gives us the tools to continue to grow and evolve into the best versions of ourselves. To live a life of abundance, happiness, and impact.
