💛💛Endometriosis 💛💛
As a lot of you know, I have endometriosis. I was diagnosed with stage IV endo, (which isn’t an indication of the level of pain necessarily, more how widespread the disease is) in my late 30’s.
Severe or stage/grade IV endometriosis affects most of the pelvic organs, often with distortion of the anatomy and adhesions.
This was the last laparoscopy I had, and during this surgery I had an o***y and fallopian tube removed as my endo adhesions had cut off blood supply to them, essentially causing my o***y to die. Definitely explained why I spent days curled up in foetal position…
Even though I am in menopause now, I still have days where I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus, I struggle to get out of bed and pelvic pain takes my breath away, because endometriosis is not just “painful periods”, it’s a full body, inflammatory disease which affects 1 in 9 women (1 in 7 aged 44-49) and those AFAB. And it doesn’t go away when your periods stop.
March is endometriosis awareness month. And I know a lot, lot, lot about it, so please feel free to message me privately if you need any information or just to know you’re not alone x
