To the mothers of mothers... πŸ’•

You remember those overwhelming early days, don't you? The beautiful chaos, the way motherhood can make you temporarily lose yourself.

Now you're watching your own daughter navigate this journey, and your heart aches for her. You want to help, but you also know she needs to find her own way through this season.

What if you could give her something you would have treasured during your own journey?

A gentle, guided journaling program designed specifically for mothers in those early, overwhelming days. Eight weeks of thoughtful prompts that help her reconnect with herself while embracing this new identity.

It's not about fixing herβ€”it's about providing a safe space to process and grow. The kind of support that says "I understand" without overstepping.

Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is provide a path back to herself. ✨

Motherhood made me forget who I was outside of being 'Mummy.'

This simple prompt helped: What do I need right now?

Not what the kids need. Not what needs doing. Just me.

"I always wanted to journal, then I became great at it!"

Despite the washing piling up, broken sleep, and making hundreds of snacks daily - I found the power of simple prompts to just be me. And others think so too! ✨

Matariki reflections 🌟

For those not familiar, Matariki is the Māori New Year, when the Pleiades star cluster rises in our winter sky here in Aotearoa. It's a time for reflecting on the year past, remembering those who have passed, and thinking about what's ahead.

These past two days, my son and I have been cleaning and sorting through our home together. Cooking and eating together, talking about the year that's passed - the tough stuff and the good bits.

Big changes and transitions are hard, and that's okay. This year has had plenty of both. There's something grounding about doing this reflective work with your child though. His perspective reminds me that we don't all experience the same events the same way.

We're setting some goals for the year ahead - some things are big and some things small, just things we want to focus on. Matariki feels like the right time for this kind of quiet reflection, for staying still for a bit to see where we're at.

Taking time to stop and let things just be, before we're ready for whatever's next.

THE QUIET IDENTITY SHIFT
It's not dramatic - it's in the details - You notice it in small moments

- Grabbing the same black leggings again
- Scrolling past music you used to love
- Choosing practical over pretty
- Feeling disconnected from your reflection

Then, by the time you have a moment to yourself, you're too tired to remember what you actually want to do. So you scroll your phone instead.

But I think it's not loss - it's layering. As Mums, "our self" is still there, just buried under layers of everyone else's needs. Like your favorite lipstick at the bottom of your bag that's still incredible, amazing and shines just as bright, just a little hidden for now.

Yes, you might forget where you put your keys while they're in your hand. But your brain has actually become incredibly sophisticated at managing complexity.

What your brain is actually doing:

- Processing hundreds of micro-decisions daily
- Anticipating needs before they're expressed
- Managing multiple schedules and timelines
- Reading emotional cues and responding instantly
- Problem-solving in real-time with limited resources

You haven't become forgetful, your brain is prioritizing survival and connection over remembering where you left your coffee cup.

The scattered feeling isn't cognitive decline - it's cognitive overload. There's a difference.

The keys will turn up. Your brain power is not missing - it's just very, very occupied.

πŸ“ MESSY MIDDLE JOURNAL PROMPT: Complete this sentence: "I may not be where I want to be yet, but I'm so much further than..."

This simple exercise helps you see how far you've actually come. Your messy middle has taught you things you couldn't learn any other way.

Write for 5 minutes and see what comes up. Share one thing you discovered in the comments!
