The food we eat is more than just for energy. Nutrients in food are essential to hormones, metabolism, cellular, activities, immunity etc.

Here is an example of how zinc works in our body. In NZ, I understand that most soil is low in zinc. thus it is very likely foods that are supposed to be high in zinc may not be. Instead of taking a supplement, consider getting a blood test done for zinc. It will need to be paid for privately (you can order online through my website) and it is good to get plasma zinc to plasma copper done (they work against each other.
