A Journey Well-Navigated

As I reflect on our haerenga, I'm filled with pride and gratitude. My Roopu has successfully completed their surgeries, and now it's time to focus on recovery. Our priority is to ensure they're in the best possible shape for our long journey home, departing Istanbul International Airport at 11:20 pm on Tuesday.

With loose ends being tied up, I'm securing and confirming arrangements for our upcoming September, November, and December tours. Additionally, I'm finalising details for my September mummy makeover operation.

Tomorrow brings excitement as we plan to explore the vibrant Grand Bazaar together as a Roopu. On Tuesday morning, we'll dedicate some time to interviews, and then we'll leave the exceptional team at Medicana Hospital at 6:30 pm, bound for the airport.

I'm delighted to report that the Roopu is recovering well, and their spirits remain high. It's been an incredible journey, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to support them every step of the way.

ALL 8 OF MY ROOPU HAVE HAD THEIR SURGERY AND ARE RECOVERING AMAZINGLY!!!

SOOOOO, today got out for some me time

Today, I joined one of our roopu companions and came to The Grand Bazaar by uber, and let me tell you, this place is a TREASURE TROVE! You can find amazing bargains on everything from jewelry to bags to knock off clothing labels and souvenirs. It's the perfect place to pick up some unique gifts or treats for yourself.

I have to say, navigating the crowds and haggling over prices was absolute GOLD. Im all smiles and high spirits, and it's clearly loving every minute of it.

The Grand Bazaar is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Istanbul, and I'm so glad we get to experience it. The energy, the excitement, the bargains... it's all just part of the magic of this incredible city.

I'm so proud of my Roopu for being such troopers and for pushing through the recovery process with such strength and determination. You guys are ROCKSTARS!

The final 4 of my Roopu are going into surgery today! It's a big day, and I'm honored to be a part of their journey.

As the person behind this medical tourism journey, I want to highlight the importance of collaboration with a hospital. 🌟Surgery Day 1🌟

31st July 2025

Finally the day is here for half of my Roopu! I'm feeling a mix of emotions - excitement, nervousness, and a sense of relief that all the hard work and preparation has led up to this moment.

I have to say, the pre-op testing phase was a wild ride. It started at 8:30am for most of my Roopu and didn't finish until 3pm for all but one, and around 8pm for that one. I know, I know, it's a long time, but trust me, it's SO worth it.

You see, pre-op testing is not just a formality, it's a crucial step in ensuring that you're ready for surgery. It's a thorough evaluation of your overall health, medical history, and any potential risks that could affect your surgery or recovery. And let me tell you, it's not something you want to rush through.

Having this done thoroughly by your chosen hospital is vital. The last thing you want is for something to be missed, and it contributes to something going wrong on the day of your operation. I mean, can you imagine the stress and anxiety of having to deal with a complication that could have been avoided?

So, even though it was a long and tiring process, I'm so grateful that we took the time to get everything checked out. It's given me peace of mind, and I know my Roopu is in good hands.

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for half of my Roopu, and I'm honored to be a part of this journey with them. Wishing everyone a smooth and successful surgery, and a speedy recovery. Let's do this!

We arrived in Istanbul 6pm yesterday IST time and were checked into our stunning Seaview Rooms by 7pm, ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure with our July Roopu!

Tomorrow's the big day - we're off to Gallipoli for a guided tour, departing at 7am sharp! 🕰️ We'll be rising early for parakuihi at 6:30am, getting ready to take on the day with enthusiasm and energy.

Gallipoli is a place of great historical significance, and we're excited to explore the beaches, memorials, and museums that tell the story of ANZAC's courage and sacrifice.
