Update 9.48am 21/01/26
MetService New Zealand has upgraded Northland's Orange Heavy Rain Warning to a Red Heavy Rain Warning.
See our latest post for full details.
_______________________________________________________________________
Mōrena Northland,
We have continued to see intermittent rainfall across parts of the region, with approximately 30 to 60 millimetres recorded so far, mainly in eastern areas.
There have been no major incidents reported overnight, and there are no current power outages. Roading and river conditions remain stable, however there is a lot of surface water, particularly in eastern areas, and the ground remains very saturated.
The main period of concern remains the next bout of rain that is forecast to arrive later today, and will continue overnight; especially for communities that have already experienced impacts from previous rainfall.
This remains an evolving situation, so we’re asking everyone to continue to stay up to date with the latest forecasts and information from MetService New Zealand, as well as your local and regional council websites.
