Our world continues to grow day by day, and yet, despite us being surrounded by people - it can still get lonely!
• Reinforce Existing Relationships:
Reaching out sounds easy on paper, but in reality, can be a really hard thing to do. Still, even just a text message to a friend or family member you know can go a long way in feeling connected with someone else.
• Interact with Strangers:
The world can seem like a big and scary place, but having small doses of friendly interactions with strangers around you can also make you feel connected with the world and make it seem less scary.
• Connect with your Community:
If you are part of a community, online or offline, try reaching out and bond over similarities.
• Implement Self-Care & Self-Love:
It's not always about reaching out, it can also be about reaching in. Working towards loving yourself and enjoying your own company can make those lonely moments feel less lonely.
• Form New Experiences:
Trying out new things is a great way to implement self-care and love, a safe way of interacting with strangers, a natural way of connecting with a community, and you can even bring an existing friend along to experience it together.
My go-to action for when I'm feeling lonely is to play my favorite online video game. This helps immensely in staying connected with people, even if I haven't met them in person.
