Stop cutting out carbs completely!
I often hear :”Dr. Ashik, I’ve cut out all carbs and sugar. I’m being so healthy!”
While I love the commitment, modern medical science actually tells a different story. The old food pyramid we grew up with is outdated. Completely eliminating carbohydrates isn’t the answer. Your body needs complex carbs for energy and gut health!
The new, evidence-based food pyramid is all about balance:
🥬 Base: Green leafy veggies, fresh fruits, and natural nuts.
🐟 Core: Lean proteins like poultry, fish, and eggs.
🌾 Balance: Beneficial complex carbohydrates in moderation.
🍔 Limit: Oils, processed foods, and red meat.
Let’s step away from extreme internet diets and move toward real, scientific nutrition!
