Preparing a medicine in the Amazon Rainforest, among the shamanic tradition, is a very special moment.

Did you know that a medicine has to be prepared very early in the morning, around 5 am, and that the person who prepares it can eat nor drink until noon the same day?

The Medicine is prepared with the leaves, roots, fruits or bark of the plant/tree depending on the use and the purpose.

The water used has to come from a river, natural source but never treated water.

Living in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest in Peru, in an Ayahuasca retreat center in Iquitos sounds like a dream.

However, the Amazon Rainforest is the most humid place on Earth, especially during the rainy season.

Naturalia Retreat Center is located at 30 minutes boat ride, and an hour walk in the jungle from Iquitos, and it is the only way to come and go.

Here is a small video of a boat ride on the way to town to get our weekly supplies, under a pouring rain.
I have to say and you will agree for sure, it still looks amazing.
