📍 A 300-year-old hacienda, lovingly restored into a sanctuary for retreats where people’s hearts can open and heal.

The hacienda looks up to an Incan astrological temple, and in the rainy season a waterfall cascades down the mountain at its side.

As you walk the grounds, alpacas graze, ducks and birds move freely, and a gentle horse often comes to greet you.

There are also sometimes condors circling above.

Here at the Hacienda we offer a variety of rooms and private casitas, each designed to host our guests in comfort while keeping them close to the spirit of the land. Meals are prepared with love, using ingredients from our gardens.

For at least 8,000 years, this leaf has been part of ceremony, offering, and everyday life in the Andes.

It’s chewed to nourish the body.
Listened to for guidance.
Prayers are blown into the wind.
Intentions, offerings, and what needs to be released are pressed into the earth through the leaf.

When you want to thank the Apus, you offer coca.
When you need clarity, you ask through coca.

Our ancestors taught about plants through stories, rituals, and daily life. 🌱
Knowledge was passed down in practice and tradition.

We sit together listening, sharing, remembering, and learning.
We are learning in the old way from elders and people still deeply connected to the plants. They are carriers of an ancestral knowledge that they are now ready to share.

We value creating connection with indigenous teachers, so their knowledge continues to be shared and carried forward.

This workshop was created in collaboration with retreats, who guide people to the Amazon jungle and the Andes to learn from different teachers and experience ancestral medicines. 🌿✨

When you host your retreat at Paucartika, you’ll have access to our newly renovated hacienda, beautiful gardens, ceremony and workshop spaces, and the support of our full-time team. Healing Andean-inspired meals are also included.

Our location is the perfect base for exploring Cusco and the Sacred Valley. We are surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, and rich history. The hacienda is situated in nature, away from the bustle of the cities, offering your group a true sense of sanctuary and connection. 🦙✨

We’ve also been busy making lots of upgrades to the rooms, gardens, and water system. And we’re strengthening our team by moving staff into full-time salary roles with health and other benefits. This allows us to offer more support and a higher level of service to our guests. 🌿

Starting in 2026, our minimum group size will be reduced to 8 guests, and rates will increase by $20 per person, per night.

If you confirm your 2026 retreat before the end of September, you’ll receive $10 off per person, per night.

🌿 Ancestral knowledge is medicine too.
Muña for the stomach, coca for prayer and energy, and ruda for protection. These plants are teachers, carrying ancestral memory and the evolutionary knowledge of how to live in balance.

We love hosting these workshops at Paucartika, connecting with the spirit of the plants and the wisdom of the local Quechua people.

It’s important to us to work with local indigenous guides and healers, and to give them space to share their voices and knowledge.
