According to Rob Dance, CEO and Founder of ROCK, here are his key pieces of advice for 2026:

"Stop chasing people who aren't chasing you back. Whether it's a job, a team, or a relationship - if you're not being valued, it's time to move on."

"You know your worth. You know what you bring. If others can't see it, that's not on you."

"So going into the new year, make space for joy, not just survival. Stay in rooms where your voice matters, and be around people who light up when you walk in."

"Choose spaces that build you up, not wear you down. Work with those who back your ideas, not just nod along."

"Life's too short to convince people of your value."

Margaret Avi, owner of Niugini Flowers & Gardens, runs her shop and office on the ground floor of the Goroka Airport terminal. Before boarding a flight to Port Moresby yesterday, I had the pleasure of catching up with her over coffee.

A few years ago, she operated her flower shop in Port Moresby, specifically at Stop & Shop in Waigani Central. In 2005, under the GIPA HEA Association, she exported over 10,000 tanglet leaves (Cordyline) to Australia.

With 26 years of experience, Ms Avi brings deep expertise in PNG’s floriculture industry. She currently serves as President of Kerafa Women’s Association and works closely with Notofena Women’s Association, mentoring and supporting women in floriculture.

BenArox Piggery is grateful for her support, while coordinating APNGWLN work in Goroka, the APNGWLN team contributed K5,000 to our project.

I look forward to providing consultancy support for their fundraising initiatives, which will benefit the 250+ mothers involved in floriculture in Goroka and Simbu under her leadership.

Bees are hardworking creatures, so when we harvest honey, we make sure not to take everything. We always leave a few frames behind for their own consumption.
