Sprint Program:
PNG Family Health Association (PNGFHA) is the lead implementation organisation with human resource support from the department of Health and IPPF Humanitarian providing technical support.
UNFPA will provide technical support especially around RH supplies, logistics and GBV.
PNGFHA has been delivering Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and Family Planning (FP) in PNG and working in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) since it's establishment in 1996. It has a total of eight (8) clinics located in Morobe , EHP, ENBP and NCD and has a staff capacity of 26 staff, both clinical and non clinical including volunteers.
The PNGFHA clinics provide a range of SRH services including STI, and HIV, FP, and Gender Based Violence services as required by the local provincial health, and National Department of Health (NDOH).
For example, the Lae clinic in Morobe province currently provides counselling and legal services for survivors of sexual and GBV.
Goroka Lopi clinic in Eastern Highlands Province provides STI and HIV clinical services for EHPHA.
Other programs include the youth/adolescence comprehensive sexuality education with out of school and in school youths.
Various outreach programmes such as mobile clinics and awareness have also been implemented in partnership with local provincial health authorities.
PNGFHA in collaboration and coordination with key partners is realising the Sprint Program.
National Capital District - NCD
The Sprint Program has started in NCD - headed by PNGFHA NCD Health Coordinator, Ms Mae Lohia who oversees the Tatiana, Hanuabada and Rainbow Clinics.
The program will cover Moresby South, Northwest and Northeast electorates.
The East New Britain leg of the Sprint Program starts this September 2020.
