Caeden had his review on Tuesday (20/8/24). As expected, oxygen level & heart rate normal. His
progress echo to follow suit on the 29/8/24.
His reviews will now be conducted on a six monthly basis & eventually yearly.
He is well & thriving ☺️

Caeden's 4 months of Aspirin medication has ended today 🎉
We now look forward to his next review in February 2024 & progress echo to follow suit.
He is well & thriving ☺️

Wow glad to learn that PNG is part of the medical team 👏 If only we had state of the art medical equipment to conduct such surgeries in our own country 😏 makes you wonder where our Government's priority really is 🙄 Both a proud & disappointing moment for us that our very own heart specialists are capable yet we lack the facilities 😔

Hi everyone ☺️

We are very delighted to learn that through Caeden's recent heart surgery, a child will be referred to the same hospital in Fiji.
We were asked by the Paediatric team at POMGEN to provide them with contact information, procedures, etc.
It is also important to note that we did our own research on the Internet and found the hospital. We only got POMGEN to do the referral for Caeden.
If you know of any child who has a complex heart defect & can not be operated on in PNG, please get in touch with us ASAP! We will be more than happy to provide information and assist with referral, etc.

Caeden's 3rd post-op review went well today 🙏
As expected, no complications noted on the echo scan. Good blood flow & just a tiny bit of excess fluid still around the lungs so he will continue his Frusemide medication only but reduced to once a day now (Spironolactone no longer required) until his 4th post-op review next month. He is well & thriving ☺️
P.S We are back in PNG 🇵🇬

Yesterday (24/7/23) was Caeden's 2nd post-op review. No complications noted on the echo scan since his heart repair. We Thank you Lord for Caeden's speedy recovery 🙏 He will continue his medications (Frusemide & Spironolactone) until his next review in PNG. Hopefully all the excess fluid around the lungs will be gone by then. There is no excess fluid in the space around the heart 🙏🙏 He was also prescribed Aspirin to reduce the risk of blood clots forming (thinning the blood) for the duration of 4 months.
