We are putting out an advanced notice to our corporate clients and the general public that SHMS is now in Lae.

We are working with our client to reconfigure and set up our medical center at 11 Mile to meet NDoH standards. The facility has been used as a clinic prior so should not be an issue. Expected completion date is 3-4 weeks.

Our ambulance and case management team with our highly qualified staff in Lae are working with all our corporate clients to attend to their medical needs.

Our services will be open to all our corporate clients and the general public and includes:
1. Dedicated PCR lab for COVID-19 testing
2. COVID-19 RAT
3. Door to door house calls
4. Emergency Medical Cover and domestic and overseas medical evacuations in partnership with our partner EMA global
5. General Lab_Biochemistry, Hematology, QFT, Immunochemistry, Microscopy
6. All rapid antigen tests
7. Occupational health checks_Pre-employment, annual medical, exit medical, aviation Medical
8. Digital X-ray
9. Emergency Room and ambulance services
10. General consults
11. Mobile Vaccination awareness and staff vaccination drives
12. Staffing support
13. Health and medical clinic management services
14. Search & Rescue

Testing and installation of our Siemens digital X-ray including leading completed to meet NDoH standards. Supply and installation is done by Meddent at our 8 mile Medical Center.

Today was a memorable day for our organisation when we got delivery of two Toyota LC Ambulances. This brings our total fleet to 03. We will be sending 1 to Lae to provide cover for our clients in that sector while 2 will be primarily used within NCD/Central.

We are a National Private Medical Service Provider and our drive is to be present in all main centres in partnership with and to complement the established public health system.

Chinese Lab Team training and commissioning our new 7500 Series PCR machine; Automatic Extraction Work Station, and Quigen Automatic Liquid Handling System; all installed and operational at our 8 Mile PNGML lab operated by SHMS. This makes PNGML the only private lab operating such sophisticated systems; which has increased our testing capacity to 5000 samples per day, and with the fully automated systems; it greatly reduces any human error in the process.

On behalf of SHMS; we would like to wish all our clients, friends and family, a very merry Christmas and a happy 2022.

We would like to also announce that we have just installed the Themofisher 7500 series high-end PCR machine and the Automatic Extraction Workstation. This will complement the Quigen Automatic Liquid Handling Platform already installed and in use.

This now elevated the SHMS operated PNGML as the most sophisticated high-end molecular lab in PNG testing COVID-19 for now; but we will go into HPV screening and other molecular diagnostics.
