Talacogon District Hospital (TDH) warmly welcomed Dr. Sadaila K. Raki-in, MCHM, MDM, CESO IV, Regional Director of the Department of Health – Center for Health Development Caraga, together with her team, during their visit and hospital tour today.

The visit aimed to assess ongoing health programs, strengthen coordination, and ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of quality healthcare services to the people of Talacogon and nearby areas.

Talacogon District Hospital (TDH), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, successfully conducted a Bloodletting Activity today at the TDH Multi-purpose Covered Court.

A total of 66 bags of blood were accumulated — a testament to the community’s generosity and commitment to saving lives. 🩸

The event was actively participated in by TDH staff, the 26th Infantry Battalion, the Talacogon Lake Eagles Club, and Hon. Elvin Maligsa, who all contributed to the success of the activity.

A special thanks to Mayor Pauline Marie Masendo for lending hospital beds that ensured the comfort and safety of all blood donors throughout the event.

Together, we continue to uphold the spirit of volunteerism, compassion, and service for the people of Talacogon. ❤️

Gipasabot usab sa ospital ang kabahin sa husto nga pagpanghugas sa kamot isip suporta sa Global Handwashing Day, nga nagpahinumdom nga ang simple nga buhat sa paglimpyo sa kamot makatabang sa pagpugong sa daghang sakit ug sa pagpanalipod sa kahimsog sa tanan.

Mag-uban na usab kita ugma, Oktubre 14 sa Department Information Officers (DIO) Hour, alas-9:00 sa buntag pinaagi sa livestream aron mahibaloan pa nato ang mga inisyatibo sa TDH alang sa mas himsog nga Agusan del Sur.

The Department of Health-CHD Caraga reminds the general public on WHAT TO DO AFTER AN EARTHQUAKE:

-Stay Calm
-Check yourself for any injuries and seek medical help
-After you have taken care of yourself, help injured or trapped persons near the affected area.
-Inspect your home for damage. Examine walls, floor, doors, staircases, and windows to make sure that the building is not in danger of collapsing.
-Check for gas leaks, electrical system damage, and water line damage.
-Watch for loose plaster, drywall, and ceilings that could fall.
Use battery-powered flashlights to inspect your home. Kerosene lanterns, torches, candles, and matches may tip over or ignite flammables inside.
-Get everyone out if your home is unsafe.
-Listen to the radio or television for updated emergency information and instructions. Keep yourself informed about the latest updates on earthquakes and aftershocks through reliable sources such as PHIVOLCS-DOST and disaster management agencies. Refrain from spreading fake news that can lead to unnecessary panic and confusion.
-Stay out of damaged buildings. If you are away from home, return only when authorities say it is safe.
-To prepare for a possible earthquake recurrence, ready your supply kit: food (e.g. biscuits), water, clothing, first aid supplies, a mobile phone, a whistle, and a flashlight with extra batteries.

Following the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck the region today, Talacogon District Hospital (TDH) reported that a surge of people arrived at the facility seeking medical attention and safety assessment.

Despite the influx, hospital personnel efficiently implemented emergency protocols, ensuring order and immediate response. No major injuries were reported among both the public and hospital occupants, and structural safety checks confirmed that TDH remains secure and fully operational.

The hospital management commended the staff for their calm and organized response, emphasizing the importance of continued vigilance as aftershocks may still be expected.

With the theme “𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐂𝐃𝐬: 𝐀 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥-𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠“ the NCD Committee Members together with the HEPO of Talacogon District Hospital actively participated in this year’s Health Summit 2025. The event was graced by our hardworking Governor, Hon. Santiago B. Cane Jr., and highlighted with an insightful discussion by Dr. Em Kenneth Sageado on NCD Prevention and Control.

TDH was also honored with a Plaque of Appreciation for its unwavering commitment and support in the successful implementation of the Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Program. The fun continued in the afternoon with engaging games led by the Provincial Health Office, free self-care services such as body massage, manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow threading, and even a spiritual care booth for reflection and emotional well-being.
