TDH proudly announces that our Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (HESU) has been officially evaluated as Fully Functional last September 24, 2025. The evaluation was conducted by Ms. Miles Samontina and Ms. Julien Castillo from the Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO), who also provided valuable technical support and addressed queries regarding disease surveillance.

This milestone reflects our hospitalโ€™s dedication to accurate reporting, effective response, and continuous improvement in safeguarding the health of our community.

Talacogon District Hospital proudly took part in the Tree Planting Activity entitled โ€œPROTEKTAHAN ANG KAPWALIGIRANโ€ in celebration of World Environmental Health Day and the 68th National Medicine Week held on September 23, 2025, at San Isidro, Agusan del Sur. This meaningful event highlighted the importance of collective action in protecting our environment and promoting community wellness.

The activity was participated not only by Municipal Health Officers from various primary care facilities and doctors from hospitals across Agusan del Sur, but also by nurses, other healthcare professionals, and members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Talacogon who showed their support to the cause. This strong collaboration highlighted how different sectors can unite for both public health and environmental protection.

To make the day even more engaging, the event began with a short program and a lively Zumba session that energized the participants. After the symbolic tree planting activity, everyone gathered to share a joyful boodle fight, fostering camaraderie and teamwork among the attendees. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿค

Held last August 15, 2025, at the TDH Conference Room, the Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) Conference once again became a venue for valuable learning and professional growth. Dr. Chriezlyn Filipinas presented the mortality cases from January to June 2025, while Dr. Estrella shared her case presentation before the medical specialists and staff of TDH.

Adding more depth to the discussion, Dr. Archie Aton, TDHโ€™s resident internist, imparted key learnings and provided constructive comments, especially on the proper diagnoses to be placed in charts to ensure well-organized and accurate documentation. The session was also enriched by Dr. Dacera, Chief of Hospital, who shared his expertise and imparted knowledge on strategies to further improve patient care.

Overall, the M&M Conference was highly insightfulโ€”participants gained new knowledge and practical applications that can truly be implemented in real hospital settings to strengthen patient outcomes and quality of care.
