To address the increasing teenage pregnancy concern of the barangay, a symposium was conducted at Brgy Camp Eduard. This activity was made possible through the effort of the Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Brgy Camp Eduard in partnership with RHU ALEGRIA as its keynote speaker. Its delighting to note that a GIDA Barangay was able to accomplish an event such as this. An activity that is worth emulating ๐Ÿ˜Š

Remember, your future is in your hands! Let's work together to prevent teenage pregnancy and empower young people to make informed choices.

The Department of Health-CHD Caraga reminds the general public on WHAT TO DO AFTER AN EARTHQUAKE in light of the recent tremors with a magnitude of 6.9 and the ongoing aftershocks being experienced:

-Stay Calm

-Check yourself for any injuries and seek medical help

-After you have taken care of yourself, help injured or trapped persons near the affected area.

-Inspect your home for damage. Examine walls, floor, doors, staircases, and windows to make sure that the building is not in danger of collapsing.

-Check for gas leaks, electrical system damage, and water line damage.

-Watch for loose plaster, drywall, and ceilings that could fall.
Use battery-powered flashlights to inspect your home. Kerosene lanterns, torches, candles, and matches may tip over or ignite flammables inside.

-Get everyone out if your home is unsafe.

-Listen to the radio or television for updated emergency information and instructions. Keep yourself informed about the latest updates on earthquakes and aftershocks through reliable sources such as PHIVOLCS-DOST and disaster management agencies. Refrain from spreading fake news that can lead to unnecessary panic and confusion.

-Stay out of damaged buildings. If you are away from home, return only when authorities say it is safe.

-To prepare for a possible earthquake recurrence, ready your supply kit: food (e.g. biscuits), water, clothing, first aid supplies, a mobile phone, a whistle, and a flashlight with extra batteries.

Forthwith, DOH CHD-Caraga, its staff and personnel, DOH hospitals, and all health agencies in the region are hereby directed to be on CODE WHITE ALERT effective December 3, 2023, until lifted.

The DOH Operation Center (OPCEN) is active in anticipation of any health-related incidents. You may contact the DOH OPCEN at the following numbers for any concerns: 0966-902-6980 and 0970-460-3554.

The DOH Caraga region continues to closely monitor the situation and coordinate with other agencies to address any health concerns.

Stay vigilant, stay safe, and support one another during this challenging time.

Press Release | 30 Oct 2023

The Department of Health (DOH) today strongly advised the public to refrain from bringing small children to cemeteries to prevent injuries and diseases caused by overcrowding.

"I am advising parents and caregivers not to bring small children to cemeteries as overcrowding and intense heat and sudden unexpected downpour may cause diseases to small children", Health Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa warned.

He added that although COVID-19 is plateuing, the threat of the disease is still present. There are still sporadic cases and increasing cases in some regions. Also, small children has low resistance against infections.

The health chief also cautioned against patronizing ambulant vendors inside and outside of the cemeteries selling green mangoes, sandwiches, fruit juices, and other similar food stuff. He explained that these food may be contaminated by unsafe water & other elements of the environment which may compromise the health and safety of consumers.

The DOH advises people going to cemeteries to plan their visit, bring their own water and food to ensure their safety and prevent diseases. Also, refrain from bringing salads and other food which may easily spoil due to heat.

"We can all prevent contracting diseases when visiting our dearly departed loved ones. Let us be responsible with our actions and make our visit solemn.", Herbosa ended.
