Successful Partial Hip Arthroplasty (PHA) for a 76-year-old male following a femoral neck fracture.
Surgery went smoothly with stable fixation and good alignment. Early mobilization and pain control achieved—now focused on rehabilitation and getting him safely back on his feet.
Femoral neck fracture facts:
• Common in elderly patients, especially those with osteoporosis
• Often caused by low-energy falls at home
• Can compromise blood supply to the femoral head, increasing the risk of avascular necrosis and non-union
• Surgical treatment is usually recommended to allow early mobilization and reduce complications
• Early surgery helps lower the risk of pneumonia, blood clots, pressure sores, and loss of independence
Timely intervention and proper surgical care play a crucial role in restoring mobility and quality of life in our senior patients.
