Let's learn a little about breast cancer screening!

🎯 Gusto kong ituro ito sa ating mga surgery residents para mas maraming kababaihan ang makinabang sa mas maayos, mas ligtas, at mas accurate na diagnosis ng breast cancer.

🔎 BAKIT MAHALAGA ANG ULTRASOUND-GUIDED CORE NEEDLE BIOPSY SA SUSPECTED BREAST CANCER? 🏥

Kapag may nakapang bukol sa breast, hindi sapat na i-check lang sa kamay o mammogram. Para masigurado kung benign o cancerous ito, kailangan ng biopsy. Dito papasok ang ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy—isang minimally invasive na paraan para kumuha ng tissue sample nang mas tiyak at mas ligtas.

💡 Bakit kailangan ng ultrasound guidance?

✅ Mas accurate – Nakikita mismo sa ultrasound kung saan dapat kunin ang sample, kaya mas mataas ang chance na tama ang diagnosis.
✅ Mas safe – Iniiwasan natin ang mga hindi dapat matamaan sa katawan
✅ Mas mabilis – In and out ka lang sa procedure room, hindi na kailangan ng matagal na recovery.
✅ Mas makakatipid - maiiwasan ang paulit ulit na tusok kung sakali man na hindi matamaan sa pang unang biopsy

📌 Kapag may suspicious findings sa mammogram o ultrasound
📌 Kapag may nakakapang bukol na kailangang i-biopsy
📌 Kapag kailangan ng tissue diagnosis bago simulan ang treatment
