Our Story
HISTORY OF REGIONAL TRAINING SCHOOL 12 The Philippine Public Safety College has a defined mission and this is to provide a comprehensive education and training for all uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police, the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology. It is guided by the general framework of good governance, firmly anchored on its twin principles of accountability and transparency. It further envisioned for the development of academic and training programs to provide culture of honesty, professionalism and responsiveness in the delivery of public safety services. The enactment of Republic Act 4864 into Law in September 1966 trimmed down the old police system of the country. One salient point of the law calls for the professionalization of the Police through the establishment of educational and training centers nationwide. The Regional Training School 12 is not stranger in this process. Its humble beginning started when the effort of PCI RENIE RESTITUTA ARIEM ABAD (RET), with the rank of SPO4 from General Santos City Police Office, with PCI ARMANDO M ACEDILLO and TS3 Subaida Akil-Lineses from ARMMTS able to convince the Sangguniang Panglungsod to donate a land for the establishment of training school in Region 12. The activation and establishment of this training school come into reality, the groundbreaking ceremony was done on Feb 27, 1998 and were attended by PMAJ GEN GUILLERMO P ENRIQUEZ, JR (RET), PPSC president, with PCSUPT CRISOGONO FRANCISCO, Director of PNTI, PCI RICARDO S JAUTON, Commandant of the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao Regional Training School and other invited local government officials. The training school was established on February 27, 1998 pursuant to General Order Nr 98-028 dated 19 June 1998 and is situated at Camp Gregorio D Daproza, Lanton, Apopong, General Santos City which is mandated to cater the training needs of three (3) Public Safety Bureaus in Region 12 covering the cities of General Santos, Cotabato, Kidapawan, Tacurong, Koronadal and the provinces of Sarangani, South Cotabato, North Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat, This school has a total land area of 3.5 hectares acquired from the Government of General Santos City through a deed of donation approved by the Hon. Mayor Rosalita T Nuñez from a lot donated by PSUPT VICTOR SAVARES DAPROZA (RET), a former Regional Dental Surgeon, PNP RECOM 12 whom was represented by Fiscal Gregoro D. Daproza, retired Provincial Fiscal of South Cotabato.
