Mount Kanlaon erupted on Thursday night, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

In an advisory released at 7:13 p.m. on February 26, 2026, PHIVOLCS confirmed the volcanic activity.

Our hearts go out to all families and communities affected by ashfall and possible evacuations. Volcanic eruptions can cause health concerns such as breathing difficulties, eye irritation, and skin discomfort due to ash particles in the air.

⚠️ Health & Safety Reminders:
• Wear face masks (preferably N95) to protect from ash inhalation
• Stay indoors as much as possible
• Keep windows and doors closed
• Drink clean water and stay hydrated
• Seek medical attention if experiencing difficulty breathing or severe irritation
