π€ APAS & Baby Growth: What You Need to Know
Some babies grow slower in the womb β a condition called Fetal Growth Restriction (FGR). One possible reason? Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APAS), an autoimmune condition that can affect placenta blood flow.
π‘ Hereβs what it means:
β¨ Baby may be smaller than expected
β¨ More frequent ultrasounds to check growth & blood flow
β¨ Low-dose aspirin or blood thinners may be recommended
β¨ With proper care, many moms with APAS still have healthy babies!
Every pregnancy is unique β working closely with your OB & Reproductive Immunologist is key.
If you have been diagnosed with APAS and are pregnant or planning pregnancy, regular prenatal care and early monitoring can make a big difference. π€
